Covid is a hoax, not in the sense that it doesn't exist, but rather that it's being credited with a lethality far in excess of reality to the point that it's now destroying our economy. How can this exaggerated and destructive response be justified? Now it's even being used by politicians to justify totalitarianism.

You're correct, I overstepped myself with that statement.
However, I will say this:, Evolution is a proven fact. Evolution invalidates the Creation story of the Old Testament. Once you invalidate Divine Creation, you pretty much invalidate everything else in the Bible that follows all the way up to the New Testament.
"Scientific proof" burden is on the people who claim he exists!
And this conversation is in very poor taste for the people that have faith that he does exist...
You clearly stated that covid is a hoax and tried to back it up by someone with questionable credibility. That is different than criticizing the lackluster response to the pandemic and I agree with you on that. It's the mixed messaging that created this situation in the first place. Don't wear masks, wear masks, dining indoors is not safe, dining indoors is safe so long as you wear a mask and have physical distancing, etc. This confusion let the virus get out of hand and now we have to make knee jerk decisions.
If you're questioning the effectiveness of masks are they 0% or 1% effective? The difference may seem small, but a 1% effective masks is better than no mask at all. The belief that wearing masks is an assault on our personal freedoms is a bigger part of the problem. Given the choice between a total lockdown and wearing masks while outside the home I think you would pick the latter any day.

We accept it as fact because it appears obvious
No one has "proven" evolution (yet)
(Again I hate the concept of a God but you can certainly have both theories in the same world; God creates the seed and life evolves from said seed)
DNA science has actually given us lots of insight into evolution. For instance, by comparing the paralog genes of humans with those of other apes as well with other mammals, fish, insects and even plants, scientists can ascertain that all living things descend from one single organism that lived billions of years ago.

There are tons of links in that evolutionary chain but it still has not been proven
Even DNA does not line up perfectly; we have an error ratio of over 8% (which modern science attributes to things such as Transposons)

We accept it exists and have a pretty unified theory on how it works
But there are still issues with it
The economy is not dead or destroyed, but sleeping & on an all expenses paid holiday from that 4 letter word "work".
Lockdowns & other extreme safety measures saved us from having 10X worse consequences re long term ill health & deaths from C-19.
We are further ahead now in our knowledge of C-19, treatments, safety protocols, vaccines, etc.
What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:
1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

Constantine allowed pagan worship to continue. He didn't dictate anyone's religion. Even the Goths who sacked Rome were a kind of Christian, and clearly not under Rome's rule.
No they don't. Religion is about faith and faith, not proof. If they believe then that's good enough. All they have to do in our society is accept other may disagree. It is pretty stupid when they try to use religion to ignore science though.
Sorry but I find it funny that a guy who is so up on the science behind covid is so unscientific on religion.
As I said, have faith if you feel it and all the power to you but all of the things you listed are complete fails from a scientific perspective.
Show me the sound concrete evidence that you understand how science or reason work. Actually your statement explains many of your posts.
Maybe you should actually read up on the measures that were put in place back then; they used masks mandates, lockdowns, and quarantines too.

Everything in science is a theory because science always accepts the possibility that future evidence and theories might offer a better explanation.
As for evolution, we have plenty of evidence that it is happening and have a fairly good understanding of how. A simple example is the way covid has mutated allowing it to spread more easily but be less deadly. The random mutations happened as DNA was replicated and the mutations that provided a survival/reproductive benefit are more likely to get passed on.
There is also a continuously running experiment on evolution of fruit flies that has been going on for over 1500 generations of fruit flies.
