Make sure when you post those comparisons to random countries that do not share any similarity to Sweden you also post the most important comparsions to Denmark, Norway, Finland. :ROFLMAO:This is of course if you know how to figure it out
There are no dissimilarities between Sweden and Portugal, Spain, France, Holland, UK or Italy.
At least not when it comes to "listening to their government" like you point out. Its a figment of your warped imagination

Sweden compared to other Nordic countries which they share so many societal norms with.

As of October 15
--------------------------7 day average---------------7 day average/Mln
Sweden--------------653------------------------------64/Mln
Denmark------------410------------------------------70/Mln
Norway--------------131------------------------------24/Mln
Finland---------------228-----------------------------41/Mln

As per some people's made up standards we can clearly see Sweden has reached herd immunity and others haven't. We can also clearly see that those other countries are in a 2nd wave meanwhile Sweden isn't. :ROFLMAO:

A three day pattern based on reporting days amidst a continually growing pattern and you try to claim victory?

The August numbers that you were trying to use as proof of herd immunity were around 250/day. Oct 14 was 970.
No, I said they are closing in on herd immunity. Obviously herd immunity doesnt happen overnight, its a process.
They are a lot closer to herd immunity than Spain, France, UK, Italy....etc. The stats prove it

Sure they are Phil! Thank God we have an expert Epidemiologist right here on Terb Call Dr. McNasty.

THE SWEDISH EXPERIMENT is coming to an end, as its policies fall in line with those of its neighbors. FoHM officials are “quietly changing their approach,” Einhorn says. The country has boosted test rates; at roughly two tests per 1000 inhabitants per day, Sweden’s testing rate is almost on par with Norway’s—although it is only one-quarter of Denmark’s. The recommendation against testing children between ages 6 and 16 was lifted for a second time in September. (FoHM says this is so children with mild symptoms can return to school more quickly if their test is negative.) Children under 6 are still not tested unless severely ill.

The drop in cases allows Sweden to start to use its contact tracing system, in place for other diseases, for COVID-19, Tegnell says: “Before, we just didn’t have the capacity.” And on 1 October, FoHM announced family members of confirmed cases should stay home for 7 days, even if they don’t have any symptoms—although children through ninth grade should still go to school.

FoHM should go much further, Hansson and a colleague said said in an August opinion piece, for instance by limiting public transport to 50% capacity, recommending masks, and asking travelers from hard-hit regions abroad and all contacts of known cases to quarantine. On 25 September, Hansson announced the Royal Swedish Academy had assembled an expert group to compare the Swedish response with that of other countries and recommend how “researchers can best contribute to future crisis situations.”

FoHM “should have listened more carefully to the scientific community both inside and outside the country,” Hansson says. Still, he predicts the rifts will eventually heal. “I am sure we will continue to argue, but I don’t see permanent damage,” he says. “We’ll move on. We’ll go back to complaining about grants.”

But Ewing worries the fight has left permanent scars. He says at least three more members of the Vetenskapsforum are considering leaving Sweden, as Brusselaers did. And even if it turns out that the country has built up enough immunity to evade a new wave of disease, he says, the price has been too high. “I worry that countries around the world are going to say, ‘We can try what Sweden did.’ But we have killed too many people already

I believe you have to understand your audience, as you are responding to Phil in this case, I highly doubt he understands any of the above when he still hasn't understood any of the following.
This is a guy who has ignorantly and irrationally numerous times claimed Sweden had already reached herd immunity because their number of deaths had become low not understanding it's not only limited to Sweden, When that was proved to be false as that is not how herd immunity works.
He changed his stance now and trying to claim Sweden is on the way of reaching herd immunity and ahead of other countries because in comparison to other countries they had a lower number of cases.

What he still hasn't been able to explain is how he sees Denmark in a 2nd wave yet he views Sweden as on the way of reaching herd immunity meanwhile the rate of transmission is very similar in these 2 countries. Not that there is a logical explanation.

As of October 15
--------------------------7 day average---------------7 day average/Mln
Sweden--------------653------------------------------64/Mln
Denmark------------410------------------------------70/Mln
Norway--------------131------------------------------24/Mln
Finland---------------228-----------------------------41/Mln

What's also important to note is Denmark has done 2.5X more tests than Sweden.

Please answer this question.
Do you really think herd immunity is achieved by going from 500 daily cases to zero cases overnight??
Or do you think its a gradual downslope??

You keep cherry-picking Denmark. Sweden is doing MUCH better than Italy, Spain, UK, France, NL, Belgium....etc

It's irrelevant to try to compare apples with banana peels. It's relevant to compare like with like, hence the comparison of Sweden with its 3 Northern European Nordic neighbours.

Sweden is relatively isolated up in Northern Europe, more people live alone in Sweden, & Sweden did not have (as Italy did) a humongous influx of infected Chinese from Wuhan early in the year, or a hug the Chinese campaign (that Italy did) that followed that, etc, etc, etc.

Sweden has way more total deaths than their 3 Nordic neighbours (Norway, Finland, Denmark) combined while Sweden has a 50% larger population than the 3 of them combined. And Sweden is no better off economically. Clearly hard lockdowns, as occurred in those 3 nations, were the superior choice to Sweden's soft voluntary isolation approach.

Sweden dead = 5,918
Norway dead = 278
Finland dead = 346
Denmark dead = 677

You really should try reading on how herd immunity works, it certainly is not based on low number of deaths nor 1 country Vs another country in how many cases they have, And again Sweden is not on a downslop of any kind they are on an increase the rate of transmission in Sweden, since September 1st the number of cases has increased significantly, that is not the sign of herd immunity.
Sweden's 7 day average has increased from 162 on September 1st to a whopping 653 as of yesterday October 15th. Do try to explain how you view that or understand that to be a sign of a downslope. :ROFLMAO:
You keep cherry picking other countries that have less similarities than Denmark, Finland, Norway, to Sweden in terms of country & population sociological norms. Go look what these differences are. Sweden wasn't a success in March, wasn't in May, August or now October as you have claimed it to be.

Now do tell us how you now claim Sweden is on the way of reaching herd immunity while at the same time you claim Denmark is in a 2nd wave, meanwhile the rate of transmission in Sweden is very similar to Denmark. Not that there is a logical explanation.

No, I want you to please tell me what those sociological norms are that would cause the virus to infect one country much more than the other. You said something along the lines of Swedes will listen to their government more. Please show stats that back up your opinion

As I stated before, I never disputed Sweden had more deaths than Denmark/Norway/Finland.
So I dont know why you keep bringing that up.

But guess what, Sweden had less deaths per capita than Italy, Belgium, UK and Spain. And all those EU countries locked down and made masks mandatory.
So explain that one: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/

Obviously it's a key point in the topic.

You can not logically explain and continuously fail to do so how you view Denmark to be in a 2nd wave yet you view Sweden's number of cases to be on a downslope and a proof of reaching herd immunity, meanwhile the scientific data shows the rate of transmission in both countries is very similar proving your non factual theory to be false.
You also have failed to logically explain how you originally viewed the reduced number of deaths is proof of herd immunity, which was another non factual theory of yours that is false again.
