1) Don't pass on the right.
2) Don't pass at an intersection.
3) Do signal when you plan to turn.

Slower traffic keep right and/or left line for passing only. Lots of idiots driving 110 in left line on highway with right line going at the same speed and think it is OK.
If someone passing you on the right, it means you are going too slow in the left line

1 is also entirely optional (and impossible on huge swaths or our highways anyways)

Passing on the right is completely legal as is passing at the intersection. Changing lanes in the middle of the intersection, while technically legal(no law against it in the Traffic Act), can earn you a ticket under certain circumstances and it shouldn't be done in heavy traffic.

don't drive slowly in the far left lane and then speed up as i am forced to pass you on the right so that i am once again forced behind you and then you slow back down to 100km/hr.
I've had so many morons do this.
One guy was going 100, then 110, then 120 back down to 98, i go to pass and they speed up to 135 as im trying to get out from behind. once i do get in front they then slow back down and i can see them in the rear view still in the lane going much slower.
another guy was going 100 in the HOT lane, i got out of the lane, and in front of him where he proceeded to give me the finger for 10 km, he then sped up to over 125( my speed), to pass me and give me the finger as he exited the highway, all in a uhaul trailer. just makes me shake my head.

Yes if you use cruise control you hate those you're passing, then all of the sudden they speed up as you are passing and then drive parallel to you for a few kms until you go either faster or slower. IMHO the best drivers in the world I've seen are the Brits. They all stay left, pass on right then quickly go back to left. (Remember they drive on left like we do in Oz; equivalent to staying on the right, pass on left then quickly back to right in Canada or USA).

Because there are many more 4 way stop intersections than there used to be, many drivers think the rules for such an intersection apply to all intersections. For a 2 way stop intersection the rules on who goes first are the same as at a stop light. Drivers turning left must wait for opposing drivers going straight.

Anyone who has gone to driving school has been taught some of these basic and simple defensive driving techniques and they include what he posted.

It may not be illegal to pass on the right but for flow, safety and consistency, passing on the left is preferred.

Why is that so difficult? Why is that so wrong?

1) Don't pass on the right.

Not actually illegal, so long as it is done with care. I'm guessing you're posting this because you're a left lane hog which, again, isn't illegal in itself, so long as you are not impeding the reasonable flow of traffic. (which you probably are)

2) Don't pass at an intersection.

Not illegal, but it's best practice to avoid.

3) Do signal when you plan to turn.

This could be illegal, but there's so many qualifiers around it you're unlikely to get dinged for failure to signal unless you do something else dangerous at the same time. That said, I don't know why you wouldn't want to signal. I want to give other drivers as much information as possible because, I don't know if you've noticed, most drivers are unobservant folk.

I will add, don’t be the driver who is scared to go slightly over the limit.

Some drivers are so scared to go 1km over the limit that they drive 5 under the limit. Staying at the limit should means the limit plus a couple for engine rev vrs 5 under to play catch up to the limit.

It seriously fucks with the flow of traffic.

Rules of the Road says to me the “unwritten rules”. As in the slang terminology.

Leave at least three car lengths between you and the car in front so you can stop relatively safely if the car in front slams on the brake. Next to not speeding, this is the most important rule of the road and one I abide by religiously.

Actually based on speed..road conditions and type of vehicle you're driving no it may actually not be enough of a gap.
a T/T rolling down a highway at 110 carrying 50 tonnes of steel will not stop as easily as a P/U truck or passenger car...
rule of thumb..1 car length per 10K/ph speed
plus it also gives you time to assess your surroundings and determine if you have options instead of rearending the vehicle infront

147 (1) Any vehicle travelling upon a roadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at that time and place shall, where practicable, be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the right hand curb or edge of the roadway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 147 (1).
