He convinced you that the news is fake, Putin is a swell guy, chloroquinine cures cancer, windmills cause cancer, you can stop hurricanes with nukes, hiring your children and their spouses is good business, tax fraud is good business, hiring crooks who get caught just means the justice system is biased and that orange makeup makes you look really cool.

So why couldn't he convince the rest of the country to wear a mask during a pandemic?
Looks like someone convinced you that only reading headlines provides an accurate view of the world. Sad.

If you hadn't noticed, Americans typically are not fond of what their government tells them to do. They are a nation founded on not letting the government have more control than the people.

History 101. Go back to school.

Actually it is why I am able to be objective.
Still through a different lense.
Different mindset, culture, history, etc. Doesn't matter if you believe you are objective. You are not American. They are not Canadian.

If you mean the lense of objectivity unaffected by family or party loyalty you are correct. His acts etc are capable of objective observation and comment. You may be blinded by your proximity to the stable genius.

If you believe that the POTUS of the USA can actually get the majority of Americans to obey what the government tells them to do, well good luck with that.
What would anyone else in that role do that would significantly change anything given the same situation? Nothing. Because it's not about the POTUS; it's about the people.

My opinion is reinforced by the knee jerk and idiotic defense of many of his statements and actions by you, oracle JC and others. The intellectual acrobatics you go to defend him leads me to no other conclusion that what his says is completely irrelevant. It is simply the fact that he does say it. The only alternative explanation is that you are among the dumbest most gullible cohort in the world. the 2 possibilities are not mutually exclusive. And I am not referring to the majority of Americans but rather the majority of his base. You know the ones who think mask are a socialist plot and the virus is a Democratic hoax and will magically disappear.

Aw, poor boob.
You claimed Americans won't follow what their leader says and here you are doing just that.

You're the one who believes everything he says and that the news is fake.
You've singlehandedly shot your own arguments in the foot.

If Trumpsters still don't think he's a corrupt racist it shows that they'll do anything he asks.

You mean every Democrat in the US is using best practices to avoid contracting and spreading the virus?

Twisting the narrative again. Futile debating with you when you do that.

How do explain non-Trump supporters not following best practices for avoiding and not spreading the virus then?

Some people are advanced enough to understand that words don't define everything.

This helps to explain why people get sucked in by career politicians when they lie to them...in a nicely spoken way.

I said statements AND ACTION. The chosen one has lied repeatedly from day one. Actually well before day one. Regrettably you and your fellow travelers only believe the "truth" has set out by your hero and you completely disregard objective facts as fake news. You are either too dumb or too gullible or both to believe your eyes and ears and not what he tells you. Is it any wonder he has become a laughing stock all over the world.

Here's the thing, boob.
In the US most american's trusted what Fauci said, almost none trust Trump.
Trump sidelined Fauci and attacked him and then lied continually about the severity of the virus and best practices.

Here in Canada the messaging has been clear and people have enacted it.
Down in the US Trump fucked the dog repeatedly (and don't bring up your goat fucking photos again...)

Trump lied about how fast he enacted his China travel ban, when he enacted it and its efficacy.

The crisis in China grew. In late January, Trump’s medical advisers agreed with his national security team that he should suspend travel from China to the United States. But Trump resisted. He had spent months cultivating a relationship with Xi and securing the trade deal. He was counting on China to buy American goods and boost the U.S. economy, thereby helping him win reelection. He had said this to Xi explicitly, in a conversation witnessed by then–National Security Adviser John Bolton. Trump also worried that a travel ban would scare the stock market. But by the end of the month, airlines were halting flights to China anyway. On Jan. 31, Trump gave in.

His advisers knew the ban would only buy time. They wanted to use that time to fortify America. But Trump had no such plans. On Feb. 1, he recorded a Super Bowl interview with Sean Hannity. Hannity pointed out that the number of known infections in the United States had risen to eight, and he asked Trump whether he was worried. The president brushed him off. “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China,” said Trump. That was false: Thanks to loopholes in the ban, the coronavirus strain that would engulf Washington state arrived from China about two weeks later. But at the time of the interview, the ban hadn’t even taken effect. The important thing, to Trump, was that he had announced the ban. He was less interested in solving the problem than in looking as though he had solved it. And in the weeks to come, he would argue that the ban had made other protective measures unnecessary.

ROTFLMAO.
Yet if you hadn't notice, they happily wear seat belts in their cars, and hand over ALL of their personal information when filing their taxes or applying for a mortgage.
But wearing a mask crosses the line.

Sorry boobs, once again, you invalidate your own argument.
Must be exhausting doing that all the time.
Go take a nap.

Funny how you always fall on your face...wearing seat belts and providing your information when filing taxes is the law.

Wearing a mask and staying in your house is not.

Now pick yourself up and think before you type.

If most Americans trusted what Fauci said then why is the death rate so high?

Here in Canada, people are genuinely more aware and cautious and self-police much better despite all the flip-flops by TAM and the WHO along the way. Add to that a smaller and less dense population mixed with a bit of luck. Had nothing to do with Trudeau who broke his own rules along the way and was called out for it as usual.

Remember the WHO advising against travel bans after they downplayed the seriousness of the virus?

Trump resisted nothing. He was called a racist for proposing a ban on Jan 31st as you keep forgetting. Now your backtracking and reinventing history...which is your usual argument death knell.

Because your moron, Trump, pushed him aside and told them to drink disinfectant, open up their businesses and not wear masks.

No, your own quotes showed that Trump is a racist but the ban on China wasn't labelled as racist.
That's what you showed us.

Trump screwed the pooch because he wanted to make a trade deal with China.
Now 160,000 Americans are dead.

There were three logical steps to consider after suspending travel from China. The first was suspending travel from Europe. By Jan. 21, Trump’s advisers knew the virus was in France. By Jan. 31, they knew it had reached Italy, Germany, Finland, and the United Kingdom. From conversations with European governments, they also knew that these governments, apart from Italy, weren’t going to block travel from China. And they were directly informed that the flow of passengers from Europe to the United States far exceeded the normal flow of passengers from China to the United States. Trump’s deputy national security adviser, Matthew Pottinger, pleaded for a ban on travel from Europe, but other advisers said this would hurt the economy in an election year. Trump, persuaded by Pottinger’s opponents, refused to go along.

Oh, so then you lied... 'muricans ARE OK with having their government tell them what to do?
