It's a numbers game.
In a strip club, a couple hundred guys and a dozen women are all in breathing-space. A girl makes her rounds, talking to all of the customers, gets to sample the breath of each of them and spread on to the next one. Great spreading vector. If any one of them has it, symptoms or no, they can spread to all. And that's one day - a typical Tuesday.
For an escort, there are half a dozen encounters for an SP, and one - ONE - for a client. Yes, those encounters involve more intimate contact. But six possible candidates versus a couple hundred seems a lot lower risk.
Yes, there's a greater chance of transmission than a casual encounter in a bar or restaurant. But the virus has to be present in one of those encounters if anyone's going to catch it.
If a super-spreader tries to transmit by visiting a few strip clubs over a two week period, that's a thousand possible contacts. If a super-spreader goes to see escorts, that's a possible half-dozen encounters, and each of those would have a half dozen contacts. The numbers are far smaller.
I certainly wouldn't go to a sports event, or a crowded restaurant, or a concert. But one-on-ones with a handful of people doesn't seem anywhere near as likely to result in catching something.
We all will make our own decisions. For myself, I'm not as worried as some.
