I'm 60+, so fuck you and the picture of Ayn Rand that you jerk off to every night.
No offence Boss & anyone in your age group, I respect everyone of you that went to work everyday & help build this great country like my parents & grandparents did. But TJ is right, although he gave some facts & opinion you don't like the lockdown has to end & very soon if we want to carry on the lifestyle were accustomed to.
You'd have to be severly retarded or living under a rock not to see the financial crisis on our hands. With our biggest export below $20 a barrel & Western Select below $5 & the gov extending the lockdown/shutdown were on a one way trip to depressionville...choo choo! We've brought air travel to & the service industry almost to a halt, & very soon automakers...this will be the nail in our coffin. When cars stop rolling off the assembly line because no ones buying them...well because they can't & the layoffs for the auto sector double our unemployment pat your leaders on the back & tell them to keep the checks a rolling because when the housing market & stock markets crash were all going to need moooor monnney to keep the wolves from the door!
The purpose of the lockdown was to flatten the curve & stop the run on the hospital. We've done that with great success...too bad more effort wasn't put into our longterm care homes, their taking the brunt of this & it's sad to see.
Let's look at the numbers of our big provinces versus three states that have no lock down orders. As of today in Ontario 385 dead, 98.4% age 60+, Quebec 487 dead, 94% age 60+, BC 72 dead (age breakdown NA), Alberta 48 dead (age breakdown NA). Deaths per million: Quebec 57, Ontario 26, BC 14, Alberta 11
Arkansas 32 dead/ 11 per million, Nebraska 20 dead/ 10 per million, South Dakota 6 dead/ 7 per million....& the economy keeps going. No schools of course, no large gatherings but a lot of
Common Sense. No bars, only take out food, but you can go to the mall if you keep your social distance & still get a haircut in most county's! If numbers go up they will put more measures in place, as numbers go down more things open.
Common sense right?
For the libtards that are content sitting at home for 2k a month & the mentality is the gov will take care of us I'll give you a simple lesson in economics...they gov doesn't have any money either! Their issuing bonds then printing money to buy most of them back. So how do we pay this back...Johnny tell them what they won...more taxes & more cuts for yearrrrs to come
Of course there's a limit to that, one of our brethren Bobby Mugabe could probably explain it better...see when he was president of Zimbabwe he kept the printing press running day & night to finance the war in Congo & inflation started to rise...a lot like in the sextillions! For those of us not mathematicians that looks like this 1,000,000,000,000,000,000...hell he made the Germans after WW1 look like amateurs!
For those of you relishing your "free money" reach out to your parents, grandparents, friends & neighbours...hell maybe even yourself & say thank you...because of the bonds the gov didn't buy back most likely aunt Carol or Uncle Joe's pension fund, mom & dad's mutual fund or yours or neighbor Frank's money in a large investment group(Onex, Fairfax, IG etc.) probably did! So you might even be working for yourself...gramps told me as a wee lad government money is circular...it always comes back to them one form or another
So for those of you over 60 & thinking keeping the country under lockdown is a good idea because it keeps you safer give your head a shake stay the fack indoors & let the rest of us get back to work! Need grocery delivery, meds delivery, ride to the hospital, financial assitance...should be a no brainer it's our debt & obligation to provide these to you. Put yourself in the shoe's of people in their 20's 30's, 40's & 50's that have kids & bigger financial obligations. Then imagine a pandemic that only affected 5% of the population...18 & under, would you want the whole economy shut down over it...fuk no you'd want the 18 & under quarantined...shoe's on the other foot right now deal with it
I urge the young, old, & everybody in between that doesn't want their grandchildren paying this debt off to petition your mayors, counsellor's, MP's to get a plan in place & rally our Premier's to get this country moving again before the wheels fall off the train...
Those waiting for a vaccine...don't hold your breath they worked on one for SARS(a coronovirus) for years with only one making it to clinical trials & still nothing 17 years later...
Peace
