But what happens when one side refuses to compromise and doesn't exhibit any modicum of rational thought and behavior? Diplomacy only works when both sides want to come to peaceful agreement.
That totally explains why the US is still in Iraq and Afghanistan, doesn't it?
There is no rationale thought to US foreign policy or any signs of compromise.

Are you really saying that of the two sides in those conflicts it's the United States that is the irrational player unwilling to compromise?

Why did the US invade Afghanistan?
Why are they still there?

Same questions for Iraq.

I think we all know the reason why the US invaded Afghanistan. Why they are still there after almost 20 years is another question. Likely due to Afghanistan forces not willing to secure their country. The US basically has no presence left in Iraq, less than 1,000 troops mostly there to protect US personnel. We all saw what happened in 2011 when Obama pulled troops en masse.

Tell us why you think the US invade Afghanistan and how rational the invasion was as well as Iraq's invasion.

Where did you get that number? I thought the US had stopped giving numbers on troop levels in 2017.

The militants entered Monguno in Borno state posing as a convoy of soldiers on Tuesday evening, the sources said. They then attacked troops inside the town, destroying at least 750 homes.

Two pastors were shot dead by Muslim militants as they travelled together by car after a Christmas service on 25 December in the Central African Republic (CAR).

A Barnabas Fund contact said Pastor Paul Djirobe was driving from his church in Batangafo to Bouca to the home of Pastor Michael Radjino, a visiting coordinator of a group of evangelical churches, when they were attacked by Seleka jihadists. Both men were shot in the head.

As usual Phil, you have come up with your own assumptions. Where do they state that he was a "left winger"?? More like someone mentally ill. The far right nutcases can be "anti-Government" as well. The guy calling witnesses terrorists indicates that he was mentally unstable!!

Shooter hated Trump.

Nuff said
All he said was that the Government was coming for him. The guy obviously is not wealthy, so nothing related to his tax returns. Which normal individual comes up with such a ludicrous statement??

Sounds more like someone who is mentally ill. That is the real fact!!

Also they were planning this:

In another meeting attended by the undercover agent, Mathews — who “crossed into the United States illegally — was there, the affidavit said. Later, the agent observed Helterbrand, Kaderli and Lane discuss plans to kill an unnamed, married Bartow couple who they believed belong to the Atlanta Antifascists. The agent also accompanied Kaderli and Lane as they surveilled the couple’s home and surrounding neighborhood.Atlanta Antifascists, an anonymous group that researches and exposes white supremacists online, released a statement to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that said the couple was not a member of its group. But the group said such plots are not unexpected.“Targeting people as members of our group has become a favorite pastime of violent white supremacists,” the statement said, adding the Base is trying “to create a general attitude of terror and paranoia.”

Yes, they were planning to undertake some killings against what they falsely presumed to be were ANTIFA members. Yet the right wingers on this board will always accuse the ANTIFA of being the violent ones!!

Thats not true at all, there are lots of violent white supremacists. I'll never defend those idiots.

You however cannot admit (nor accept) that radical Islam is BY FAR the greater worldwide terror threat.
