Would it help if I said Kids these days!!!And that is how threads go off topic. At this point, not one person is talking about the tipping practises of millennials, which I assume is what you wanted discussed.

No different. And this is different from any establishment how?
Well back in my day...Would it help if I said Kids these days!!!
Holy crap! For a moment there, I thought you were talking about Shack and his BFF. LOL!First of all it's not your fucking business when I log in on here and in what manner I write about things on here! What are you? A forum police that you track people down when they login, respond or not respond, cross reference fucking threads (you did it to somebody else I noticed)??? You have an argument post it but don't fucking tell me what I can and can't write about on Christmas Day.
So there, I read your post, strikes me as something an insecure 15 year old would write.
1)Please don't compare the tone of this post to even one of mine.Holy crap! For a moment there, I thought you were talking about Shack and his BFF. LOL!
Which one? The Queen St. location sucks, and the Hurontario/Steeles location in only slightly better.I go to chuck's in brampton as I can walk back to my hotel half or fully gooned. They are cornering the bottom end of the market. They have 6.50$ 30oz drafts and a quite good sirloin burger and fries for 6$. The one in brampton is rough, complete with hookers at the bar. I saw the htg tax also. It's a place to get drunk fairly cheap. Every time I've been in there someone has usually fell over. My kinda place.
I always get the same gay waiter though, which sucks.
You're such a childish idiot.First of all it's not your fucking business when I log in on here and in what manner I write about things on here! What are you? Second, don't think that you are somehow smarter than everybody else and the only one with knowledge of how businesses are run and what actually happens behind "closed doors" at places like barber shops, car shops, small stores etc. I hate to disappoint but you are not (so sorry you're being a princess here thinking that you are special and all that, not me). I can assure you (from first hand experience) that business owners remember clients and will treat some differently to others. For example, an asshole like you would not get any discount at a place I worked at long time ago. On the other hand clients that were pleasure to deal with and spent a lot got their coffee, discounts etc. and in some cases were served after hours.
Finally, 95% or so of people would never tip if it wasn't customary, it's just so counter intuitive and senseless when you already paid for goods/services. Including that tip step in POS is an element that helps sales people sell POSs by advertising that feature and telling the owner that it could bump up revenue (again, first hand experience as I was on the other side of the counter when the guy tried to sell one!!!).
So there, I read your post, strikes me as something an insecure 15 year old would write.
So this is a concept I don’t get , why would it tip an SP for good service ? Aren’t I already supposed to get really good service if I’m paying like $300 per hour so wtf why would I tip her she is supposed to work for the rate I’m which she sets!!I'm no Millennial, I don't tip SP's but I do tip servers. Really can't compare the 2, a solid is SP is making $150 per hr and up (in cash, which I imagine is not being declared...), the server if lucky is making $15 per hour, maybe $20 per hour with tips.
Makes sense to tip a server, makes NO SENSE to tip an escort.
If she gives good service the SP gets my repeat business. If they think I am cheap paying $250 or $300 an hour the SP can go fuck themselves. So this is a concept I don’t get , why would it tip an SP for good service ? But if you don’t tip an SP OR MPA your a cheap prick by most of these women . The concept of working hard for you money is gone so many people men and women just expect big money for doing nothing !!!
Tipping is for the birds but I am wondering HOW the heck you did not notice the "honest to goodness fee"My expectations were not high when I went to a Chuck's Roadhouse a few weeks ago but their commercials made it look appealing and the prices on their steaks looked great. A 21oz. porterhouse was no more than $25 and their steaks are advertised as AAA.
They were fairly busy on a Saturday night and finally a table opened up for us. Just as we were getting seated, this guy (owner? manager?) stops us and says we can't sit there because they needed the table for a party of 21 arriving shortly so we had to sit at the counter, not as amenable for conversing with the rest of our party. The party of 21 never showed.
Most of our main dishes arrived tepid and one was actually cold. But, as I said, my expectations were not high.
Then we get the bill and for some reason I checked it closer than normal and between the subtotal and the tax I see a charge of 3%. I asked the person behind the counter what that was. She said, and I quote "It is an Honest to Goodness fee". WTF?
I paid the bill but before we left I tracked down the manager dude and politely questioned, saying that I'd never heard of that. He said, and again I quote, "It helps us keep our prices down". At that point, still at normal voice level, I let him have it. Your prices are deceptive. We unnecessarily had to sit at the counter, the food was cold and now this stupid, stupid charge and even stupider explanation. He said he was terribly sorry about our experience and then proudly hands me a $10 off coupon for our next meal. (Now that I think of it he had a LOT of those cards in his pocket. Not surprising in retrospect.) I said, but the bad experience was tonight. He said, "That's why I gave you the coupon." Me: "If you were sincerely sorry you would do something for us now." He said that he was sincere and continued to defend. I basically called him out on his bullshit (I did not swear), crumpled up the coupon and saw the incredulous look on his face as I tossed the coupon on a counter and walked out.
Does anybody else have tales of getting overcharged in such a deceptive manner?
Well, nobody in my party noticed it. But that is beside the point. If every item has a 3% markup, not just some, then the actual price is x+3% and should be listed as such. There is no justification for this honest to goodness surcharge. And if anything, having a lower subtotal, in theory, means lower tips for the staff.Tipping is for the birds but I am wondering HOW the heck you did not notice the "honest to goodness fee"
It is posted (signage) on front door
It is posted on website
It is on EVERY page of the menu, and they even have a full page INSERT which goes into a long verbiage version of it
They even go so far as to explain the math behind it
I have never seen an ad for them (youtube link anyone?) but would be very surprised if it was not mentioned there as well
Yeah, but millennials don't drive either so its obviously not for them.I once saw a tip jar at a self-serve gas station.
LOL! That's a good point.Yeah, but millennials don't drive either so its obviously not for them.
Why are we even discussing millenials? Should they take up any of our mental energy? Maybe somebody not able to deal with growing older has to bash them to make themselves feel better.I’m a “Gen X’er” and for the life of me can’t figure out why millennials get bashed so much.
WE created them. Well, I didn’t personally, but my generation was the one awarding them trophies for showing up and that tried to “nerf the world” for them.
It’s YOUR fault they’ve grown up incapable of dealing with the slightest adversity.
How many of them buy a drink to use the wifi and use the place to work since they can't afford the rent on office spaces?I wonder why they don't tip. Millennials always seem to have money burning a hole in their pockets. Every Starbucks on every street corner is jam-packed with them ordering round after round of strange sounding $10 beverages. I feel like a pauper in their midst. The menu consists of what looks like hundreds of exotic coffees. Is this what millennials were taught in school?
