This thread will be about all the doomsday climate predictions constantly cooked up by climate alarmists and laugh when they all fail

Four years to save the Earth: 2020 is the deadline to avert climate catastrophe, experts claim in chilling commentary

'When it comes to climate, timing is everything' Nature commentary said
Letter was signed by former UN climate chief Christiana Figueres, three top climate scientists, and two sustainability experts from the business sector

A world that heats up beyond that threshold will face a crescendo of devastating impacts ranging from deadly heatwaves to mass migration caused by rising seas, the experts warned in a commentary published in the science journal Nature.

With 1.0 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) of warming so far, ice sheets that could lift oceans by a dozen metres are melting more quickly, coral reefs are dying from heat stress, and ever more damaging storm surges are hammering coastal communities.

The transition to cleaner energy sources is well underway and is backed by broad consensus on the need to beat back the threat of climate change—with the notable exception of the United States under President Donald Trump.

Now the Pentagon tells Bush: climate change will destroy us
· Secret report warns of rioting and nuclear war
· Britain will be 'Siberian' in less than 20 years
· Threat to the world is greater than terrorism

Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..

A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.

No Climate Strike In 1938

On Setember 21, 1938, New York and New England were hit by a major hurricane which killed hundreds of people. There were no climate strikes that day, because people were dealing with real problems – like the hurricane and a World War about to start.

This is safe, low CO2 world which modern children are lied to about by academics who belong in the State Pen, rather than Penn State.

stay tuned for more

I stopped listening to predictions of certain doom back in 1982- the second hotter than average summer after years of predicted cooling.

Five-year period ending 2019 set to be hottest on record:

https://phys.org/news/2019-09-five-year-period-hottest.html

Still waiting to see the five coldest years on record appearing under the horizon.

Thank you to all the 6% or so of the Canadians (many who post on this Board) who believe that Climate Change is a real "HOAX". You have made Climate Change look as realistic as ever!!

A RECORD OF HOT SUMMERS.

IN 637 the heat was so great in France and Germany that all springs dried up, and water became so scarce that many people died of thirst.

In 873 work in the field had to be given up ; agricultural labourers persisting in their work were struck down in a few minutes, so powerful was the sun.

In 993 the sun’s rays were so fierce that vegetation burned up as under the action of fire.

In 1000 rivers ran dry under the protracted heat ; the fish were left dry in heaps, and putrified in a few hours. The stench that ensued produced the plague.

Men and animals venturing in the sun in the summer of 1022 fell down dying; the throat parched to a tinder and the blood rushed to the brain.

In 1132 not only did the rivers dry up but the ground cracked on every side, and became baked to the hardness of stone. The Rhine in Alsace nearly dried up.

Italy was visited with terrific heat in 1139; vegetations and plants were burned up.

During the battle of Bela, in 1260, there were more victims made by the sun than by weapons; men fell down sunstruck in regular rows.

In 1303 and 1304 the Rhine, Loire, and Seine ran dry.

Scotland suffered particularly in 1625; men and beasts die in scores.

The heat in several French departments during the summer of 1705 was equal to that in a glass furnace. Meat could be cooked by merely exposing it to the sun. Not a soul dared venture out between noon and 4 p.m.

In 1718 the thermometer rose to 118 deg.

In 1779 the heat at Bologna was so great that a great number of people was stifled. There was not sufficient air for the breath, and people had to take refuge under-ground.

In July, 1793, the heat became intolerable. Vegetables were burned up, and fruit dried upon the trees. The furniture and woodwork in dwelling-houses cracked and split up; meat went bad in an hour.

The rivers ran dry in several provinces during 1811; expedients had to be devised for the grinding of corn.

In 1822 a protracted heat was accompanied by storms and earthquakes; during the drought legions of mice overran Lorraine and Alsace, committing incalculable damage.

In 1832 the heat brought about cholera in France; 20,000 persons fell victims to the visitation in Paris alone.

In 1846 the thermometer marked 125 deg. in the sun.

Climate Alarmists Rewriting The Past part 1

In the November 1976 issue of National Geographic, they showed a Little Ice Age followed by a sharp warming spike to 1940, and then cooling back to 1880 levels.

This cooling back to 1880 levels was also shown by NCAR, and the National Academy of Sciences.

The warmth of the 1930s/40s and subsequent cooling was well documented.

This warmth of the 1930s and 1940s, turned rapidly into cooling and fears of a new ice age.

Climate Alarmists Rewriting The Past part 2

This strategy of hiding the warm past was openly discussed in Climategate E-mails.

But that was just the beginning. The removal of the post 1940’s cooling, paved the way for “Mikes nature trick” to “hide the decline“ in the proxy data – and erasure of the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age.

But climate scientists plotted to erase the Medieval Warm Period, and that is exactly what they did.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1rj00BoItw

By 2001, the Medieval Warm Period, Little Ice Age, and post-1940 cooling had been officially erased. Just as the climate scientists planned to do.

The pattern of climate scientists plotting to erase past warm (and cold periods) is well established, and completely fraudulent. NASA has doubled pre-2000 warming over the past 19 years.

And NOAA has turned a long-term US cooling trend into warming.

This fraud is being committed blatantly, right in front of everyone’s eyes.

Here in Canada feds scrap 100 years of data on climate change

Canadians already suspicious of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax are likely be even more suspicious given a report by Ottawa-based Blacklock’s Reporter that Environment Canada omitted a century’s worth of observed weather data in developing its computer models on the impacts of climate change.

The scrapping of all observed weather data from 1850 to 1949 was necessary, a spokesman for Environment Canada told Blacklock’s Reporter, after researchers concluded that historically, there weren’t enough weather stations to create a reliable data set for that 100-year period.

“The historical data is not observed historical data,” the spokesman said. “It is modelled historical data … 24 models from historical simulations spanning 1950 to 2005 were used.”

These computer simulations are part of the federal government’s ClimateData.ca website launched by Environment Minister Catherine McKenna on Aug. 15.

She described it as “an important next step in giving our decision-makers even greater access to important climate data for long-term planning. The more each of us uses this type of information, the more it will help.”

Blacklock’s Reporter, which describes itself as “the only reporter-owned and operated newsroom in Ottawa” focusing on intensive reporting of government documents, notes that in many cases the observed temperatures scrapped by Environment Canada in creating its computer models, were higher in the past than today.

For example, Vancouver had a higher record temperature in 1910 (30.6C) than in 2017 (29.5C).

Toronto had a warmer summer in 1852 (32.2C) than in 2017 (31.7C).

The highest temperature in Moncton in 2017 was four degrees cooler than in 1906.

Brandon, Man., had 49 days where the average daily temperature was above 20C in 1936, compared to only 16 in 2017, with a high temperature of 43.3C that year compared to 34.3C in 2017.

Thirty years ago, the UN said we only had until the year 2000 to save ourselves from global warming.

But after decades of fear mongering about global warming, five years ago the global warming pause forced climate alarmists in a new direction.

Alarmists quit talking about warming, and started talking about “climate change” “climate disruption” and “extreme weather.” Now every weather disaster is shown over and over again on television, and emotionally linked to rising greenhouse gas concentrations – just as Pavlov conditioned dogs to drool when they heard a bell ring.

The brainwashing has been very successful. The Washington Post says the world will end in the year 2o31, unless we give up our cars, fuel supply, freedom, money, democracy and meat. Note that this is a 31 year reprieve from the UN’s 1989 forecast.

So are hurricanes actually becoming worse? Of the ten deadliest Pacific cyclones, nine occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM. Two of the ten deadliest occurred in 1881. The third deadliest occurred in 1780, and killed 100,000 people.

The deadliest Atlantic hurricane also occurred in 1780. Of the ten deadliest Atlantic hurricanes, nine occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM, and three occurred during the Revolutionary War

The deadliest cyclone of all occurred in 1970, and killed half a million people.

Imagery like this from Florida is shown over and over again on television, and linked to rising carbon dioxide concentrations.

But how many young people know about the 1900 Galveston hurricane, which killed 10,000 people and destroyed the city?

Or the 1926 hurricane, which destroyed Miami?

Or the 1815 New England Hurricane?

It is safe bet that school children aren’t being taught about this, but are instead being exposed to Nobel laureate Al Gore’s sci-fi flick. Ten years ago, Gore released a book with the satellite imagery below, showing lots of hurricanes including one off the east coast of the United States which was circulating the wrong direction (clockwise) for the Northern Hemisphere. This sort of junk science and fakery is what school children have been taught as science.

The United States has the best long term hurricane records of any place on Earth, and shows a long term decline in hurricane strikes – down 25% since the 19th century. The peak year was 1886, when the US was hit by seven hurricanes. Four of them hit Texas, and three hit Florida that year.

Major hurricanes peaked in the US during the 1940s, and recent years have been the quietest on record.

Three years ago, the CIA Linked Washington Post was terrified by the record lack of hurricanes.

There is no evidence hurricanes are getting worse, but what about tornadoes? Last year was the first year with no EF4 or EF5 hurricanes in the US.

Compare this with 1925, when a single tornado leveled dozens of cities and killed a huge number of people in at least three states.

US tornado deaths peaked during the 1920s, and have been declining ever since.

Over the last 70 years, the number of F3-F5 tornadoes has declined.

The weather was far more extreme from 1925 to 1938 than anything Americans have experienced recently, but very few people still have memories of that. Imagine the hysteria if we had a period of extreme weather like that now!

There is no indication that the climate is becoming more extreme, but lots of evidence that it is becoming less extreme. What is becoming more extreme is the misinformation, propaganda and lies from academics, journalists and politicians. President Eisenhower warned about this in his 1961 farewell speech.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present — and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

Certain hot summers in individual countries do not add up to the global temperatures as being the warmest five years in history.
What were the exact temperatures up to the 17th century??

It also mentions up to 118 degrees in 1718. What scale was it using Fahrenheit or Centigrade / Celsius??

Want to dispute this fact:

Watch Climate Alarmists Try To Explain Why They Use Products Made From Fossil Fuels

From The Daily Caller

Stephanie Hamill Video Columnist

September 21, 2019 11:58 AM ET

The Daily Caller dropped by the climate strike in Washington, D.C. on Friday to learn more about the activists who are demanding that you and I change the way we live, eat and go about our lives.

You may be surprised to hear this, but most of the activists are just like us. They wear products made from fossil fuels, they own cars, many told me they eat meat but also claimed that they were “cutting back,” and they’re certainly okay with killing trees — as long as those trees are used for the silly, meaningless signs they paint buzz phrases on to virtue signal to everyone else. (RELATED:Bernie Sanders, Climate Hawk, Spends Nearly $300K On Private Jet Travel In Month.)

I confronted a few of the activists about their use of products made from fossil fuels and things got a little uncomfortable to say the least.

Really no one could give me a good answer, and in a nutshell, the answers I got pretty much shifted the blame to our society. No one wanted to take responsibility for their own actions.

Shouldn’t they be living by example?

Several activists also opened up to me about their “climate change sins” and again, they’re just like the rest of us who weren’t skipping work, or missing school.

When exiting the rally we noticed the trash cans were overflowing with plastics and even perfectly good signs that could have been reused for the next ‘do as I say, not as I do’ event.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

Our World In Fake Data

Oxford University shows a huge increase in reported natural disasters since 1900, including twelve in 1927.

It took me about thirty seconds to research the accuracy of the graph. The Red Cross described 1927 as the worst year in history, reporting 111 disasters – including 29 tornadoes, 24 floods, 9 hurricanes and 23 fires. The worst floods in US history occurred that year. The Mississippi River was flooded for more than six months, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to abandon their homes permanently. Vermont’s worst flood also occurred in November, 1927.

St. Louis was destroyed by a tornado.

A number of record heatwaves occurred in 1927, including a protracted one in September and October, which killed scores of people.

Obviously the person who generated the graph didn’t do any research, and is simply making numbers up. Another graph from the same website shows death rates from natural disasters down 95% since the 1920s.

After all that research from CM that’s all you have?
Posting images from denier sites is hardly 'research'.
Mostly I ignore the junk he posts, its so ridiculous and I already spend too much time here.

Like trying to link life expectancy to CO2, a causal fallacy.
Or his extinction chart, which is sadly fairly close.
A 2017 study looked at animal populations across the planet by examining 27,600 vertebrate species — about half of the overall total that we know exist. They found that more than 30% of them are in decline.
https://www.businessinsider.com/sig...ared-the-earth-with-humans-are-already-gone-1

The latest IPCC report on oceans shows that CM's scaremonger isn't that far off from the time we now have left to lower CO2 output before we're committed to 1.5 or 2ºC warming.
Previously the planet was warming at 0.2ºC a decade but that rate is now going up, and combining the time lag of atmospheric CO2 and the amount were still putting in the air, there really isn't that much time.

This chart is 4 years old, newer ones don't look any better.
