Has Vlady worked through his growing pains? He did the Monster Mash against the Tigers.

His power during the home run derby was unreal, every time he connected, you could hear the ricochet of the pitching barrier.

I don't think he's totally worked out the growing pains. He's still super young. You have to remember he's been rushed through this process because they want him in his prime under his rookie contract. You have to look at guys like Pete Alonso and say, yeah okay it's his rookie year too, but he's 24. Makes a big difference.

You call it the same thing that protects a pitcher in regular batting practice, a "L Screen".

Wouldn't one only hear a ricochet if a batted ball struck the L Screen?
I didn't know what it was called, buy me a pizza and call me Susan. I have Klipsch speakers on my home theater, you can hear everything. Every time he connected the exit velocity produced a sound off the L screen as the ball passed by. No other batter could manage it, it was extraordinary.

YT audio not up to stuff...you can barely hear it.

As for the car accident, thank God I put in the time on The Roman Chair, otherwise I'd be in a wheelchair.

George if you don't know what a Roman Chair is....

I hope Stroman goes to a team that can score some runs. The guy allows one run and gets stuck with a loss.

Yankees are interested, for sure he will go to a contender as non contenders are sellers. Trade him now while his value is up. The Jays will not contend for 2 years at least and no telling what his arm will be like then so get some young arms for the farm system and hope our scouts can spot a winner or two as the team you trade with knows their talent and will try to dump losers

So that would be 6-8 years into the shapeero regime. Now they trade Stroman, Sanchez, Giles for more prospects. Who will replace them? Pitching prospects? How long 'til they mature? How much longer does that take 'til we have a contender? 10 years into the regime?

Troy Tulowitzki has announced his retirement from MLB.
The way I understand it (feed the trolls), he still receives the monies owed in his contract, unless he files retirement papers.
Note: He won't file retirement papers until the end of the 2020 season.

I followed up on this, according to the current collective agreement a player can file for retirement without terminating his current contract. Tulo has the right to see out his contract until it expires. I have a hunch that will change with the current bargaining, the Jays got burned.

Still I hold no malice toward Tulo, he's just taking what the CA gives him. He had great talent but bad genes, playing on turf did him in.

100%, I completely support Tulo getting paid his full contract.
I don't see the players giving up that chip in C.B.A. negotiations
The Blue Jays didn't get burned, they were fully aware of Tulo's contract, and health when they acquired him.
I don't think the club makes playoffs in '15 or '16 without that trade.

Note: As a shortstop, he didn't play an awful lot on turf, as Toronto installed a dirt infield for the 2016 season.

We have talked about this before. When did he play on turf? He never played in the outfield. And only a couple of months on infield turf when he arrived here.

It's a copout. It is obvious, at least to me, that he was damaged goods before he bacame a Blue Jay...

I got no problem with PLAYERS getting every nickel they can from billionaire owners -but Tulo is no longer a player and it seems selfish to take money as if he were. Especially when that money could be paid to actual players. Yes, he shouldnt lose it all due to injuries - but he shouldn't get it all either.

He was injured playing major league baseball.
He had a contract.
Why shouldn't he get it all?

Interesting question. What if an MLB player got hurt jumping out a window to escape a jealous husband? Will he still get paid his full contract?

He played in Colorado. In then out of the high altitude may be a factor

Jays knew he had a huge contract

As per Mike Wilner: Got official confirmation - Troy Tulowitzki’s retirement this week does not change what Blue Jays are required to pay him. Once they release him, they’re on the hook for the full boat, save this year’s minimum which Yankees had to pay up until his retirement.

It's true. You really don't have a sense of humor.
You were not trying to make a joke. You actually thought that it was an interesting question.

It's like when trump says something really stupid and then his TDS cultists say that he was just joking.

Just to make you happy.

An MLB pitcher trying to fix a leak falls off his roof and breaks his ankle. (This actually happened to Jimmy Key.) I still think fleeing a jealous husband is funnier.

Question: Does he still get paid?

It actually was a serious question. And a good one.

Can you answer it??
