And he (as an individual) doesn't own the team, the corporation does.I do know that but when I searched that list of owners they listed the individuals, not the corporations. Rogers' picture was there and his net worth of over 11 billion dollars.

Not exactly. What I am saying is an organization with the resources of Rogers should not make us endure what looks like at the very least a 6 year painful process. More likely 7 or 8, and that is IF everything goes well.So what are you saying here, shack??
Rogers is just bleeding the team dry and doesnt care about putting a winning team on the field??
Wire $1,000 to PhilFlyByNight@hotmail.com and I'll set up a meeting between you twoHey Phil, when you are finished with this new girl in your sig pic, I'd like to marry her
Plus when he's making out its often hard hit balls right at fielders. Thats a good sign.BTW, hitting like .365 in his last 7 games FYI
TFC went through that exact same thing, and thats when former mayor David Miller (and TFC fanclub) stood up and raised their voices saying they werent gonna stand for a half-effort. TFC responded by splashing more cash, buying Bradley, Atomic Ant and a few others and the rest is history. Not exactly. My point is that ownership has resources that should be close to matching or even exceeding ownership in NY and Boston etc. and those teams are constantly spending regardless of how they performed the previous year. Even if they DO decide to make big changes, they don't make the fans wait and suffer through a 6-8 year process like we are going through. Boston had some horrible teams under John Farrell and especially Bobby Valentine. I suspect that within 2 or maybe even 3 years each time, they were serious contenders.
So I don't think he's bleeding the team dry, but since shapeero has arrived, he is disrespecting very supportive fans by running this team more like teams in Tampa or Cleveland or Pittsburgh or Miami as opposed to those of his financial resources peers in NY, Bost, LA, Frisco. Rogers doesn't necessarily have to be as aggressive as those top tier teams but at least throw us a few bones, spend a few bucks for the sake of the fans. It shouldn't have to be this painful
As I said, I was repeating what I saw online. Whether Rogers Corp or Ed Rogers is the owner, does not change the gist of my point, which was that the owner has very deep pockets in relation to the owners of other teams. Am I wrong in that assessment? Are they lower down the ladder than I am assuming? And he (as an individual) doesn't own the team, the corporation does.
I think, I hope, with fans staying away in droves and the subsequent greatly decreased revenue that that would provide some motivation.I dont see a Blue Jay fanclub doing the same thing, maybe thats the problem??
But I would think Ed Rogers still has a substantial decision on how much money is spent, regardless of shareholders.I would say the board (Not Edward) calls the shots.
They have to answer to their shareholders
Really bad idea, because if that boycott lasts for many years the team might be sold to an American city.I think, I hope, with fans staying away in droves and the subsequent greatly decreased revenue that that would provide some motivation
Here are a couple of other scenarios. The outfielder attempted to catch ball, (the ball would have hit the wall and bounced back into the outfield if the outfielder did not make a play for it) the ball bounced off the outfielder's glove and over the wall and into the stands.
1. Not a homerun if the outfielder catches it cleanly (but he has to pull the ball back inside the park and inside his glove completely). Here are a couple of other scenarios.
1) Ball clears the fence and the outfielder pulls it back. Home Run?
2) Outfielder catches the ball and both fall into the stands. Home Run?
In Raptorland it is called "load management"!:biggrin:Jays sitting out Vlad on a holiday Monday game. Talk about giving the middle finger to the fans.
