LOL! on some level that actually makes sense...Maybe we can trade him to the Mets for Jose Reyes.
It looks like they are going nowhere for at least 2 - 3 years so why not get rid of what trade-able assets you have now for some young future talent. Personally I think Stroman is dwindling and is more valuable now than what he will be during mid season. Same thing with Sanchez.Looks like they're going to strip the team down to bare bones this year:

So it has taken shapeero 3 whole years just to make the playoff team he inherited bad enough so that now he can justify a tear down and now we have to wait 4 or 5 more years until they are respectable (possibly). It looks like they are going nowhere for at least 2 - 3 years .
I'm with you.I say we start a revolt!!!!!!!
I'm getting my pitchforks ready, dammit!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately the fan base is so accommodating that Rogers takes advantage of it similar to how the Leafs took advantage of the fans for decades. As I keep saying, Toronto is one of the biggest markets in MLB and I guarantee you it would not be tolerated in any comparable market.
I don't think it's going to be that long. I think by 2020 they'll competitive again. They will spend again in 2020 because the window of having Vlad and company at cheap prices will be short. It looks like they are going nowhere for at least 2 - 3 years

Bang on Ref. One difference is that while the Jays fans started to stay away in droves last year, to the tune of a 900,000 decrease in ticket sales, hockey is more woven into the fibre of Toronto, and as such, it was shocking that even maybe a few hundred seats were actually available for a Leafs game.Unfortunately the fan base is so accommodating that Rogers takes advantage of it similar to how the Leafs took advantage of the fans for decades.
Our salary has been in the top ten of all baseball for several years and has the financial backing to maintain that support. There is no excuse we should not have a team that consistently challenges for a play-off spot similar to other big market teams.
Does that mean Jays will still have to pay his salary for remainder of the contract??The Toronto Blue Jays have released Troy Tulowitzki, making him a Free Agent
Does that mean Jays will still have to pay his salary for remainder of the contract??
I'm assuming yes![]()
That would be smart.Yes, but it's possible they worked out one of those deferred payment things where they give him the rest of the money over like 10 years instead the next two.
Kind of like what the Mets did with Jason Bay
Does anything change from the Jays' perspective if Tulo signs with someone else?Yes, but it's possible they worked out one of those deferred payment things where they give him the rest of the money over like 10 years instead the next two.

No they still have to pay him his full salary, another team can now sign him for $600,000Does anything change from the Jays' perspective if Tulo signs with someone else?

That $600,000 would be deducted from what the Blue Jays owe him.No they still have to pay him his full salary, another team can now sign him for $600,000
I wouldn't bother with deferring payments, were I the Blue Jays.Yes, but it's possible they worked out one of those deferred payment things where they give him the rest of the money over like 10 years instead the next two.
