Osuna returns to T.O. for 3-game series. I wonder if he'll get booed

Boruucki, Reid-Foley, Gaviglio, Pannone……. has anyone noticed how adept these 4 are at holding runners on? Jays catchers look awful when these guys are pitching. Good Lord they successfully stole on a pitchout the other night. I rarely criticize Pete Walker but somebody in the organization ain't doing the job and the buck has to stop somewhere.

Osuna got booed lustily, but he looked as good as ever....court tomorrow. I always figured that in about ten years Osuna would be considered one of the all time great closers......or he would burn out by 2020

Nothing like a little "innocent till proven guilty" huh?? :biggrin1:

Agree with you. The guy pitched his ass off when he was here and until he is proven to have done something heinous in a court of law, he should be treated respectfully. Last night was glad he got the save and shut the morons up!

I'm glad it's coming to a close. I can finally cross that final hurdle before looking at 2019.

He clearly did something serious and got off easy, he's a scumbag.

Something doesn't add up. MLB does not go to the extreme of suspending him 75 games for a "misunderstanding". I am not surprised it ended up like this as there was probably some serious work done behind the scenes to shut this thing down. Guess the only person hurt in this escapade was his girlfriend. Hope the beating was worth the pay-off.

All we can do now is leave it up to Karma.

She would not come back to Canada to testify. She has their child with her - so it may be that he won't ever be able to see the child he fathered - so he has paid a price for his actions and now he has a right to earn a living playing ball.

Crown dropped the charges. Girl - I suspect - got $100,000 to stay in Mexico and soak up the Sun. Everybody's happy.

She would not come back to Canada to testify.
That was certainly convenient.

Imagine if the photos of her beating were to be leaked during the play-offs and how it would impact the team, especially McCullers and Verlander whom have been outspoken on the subject.

I liked the guy when he was pitching for the Jays, but have no respect for someone who would beat a spouse, especially to the point of having the police throw him in the slammer and she is rushed to the emergency ward.

Yes - I do not have all of the facts so this is in my opinion only.

Agreed with the last statement.

She has stated that she wants to continue their combined parenting agreement, whatever that was.

Thats exactly what happened. If there's no victim to testify, there's no case.

She basically got $100K to keep her mouth shut

Apparently Osuna slapped his gf and pushed her down a flight of stairs. Shapeyero didn't want to deal with the fallout, MLB did him a favour by suspending Osuna for 75 games. There's no video evidence so it's hearsay.

Osuna is on a hot tin roof, if he blows saves in the playoffs his team mates may turn against him.

In better news I like the way the Jays young Ity/American pitchers Gaviglio and Pannone (loaf) are working out. I can see them making commercials for TLN like Sergio Momesso did when he played for the Leafs. Anyone remember commercial he made for Cadillac at Yorkdale now Midtown Honda?
