Don't be fooled, Brazil are not as strong as they were in 2002 and Neymar is not Ronaldo. Apart from that, I have nothing but indifference to the Russian World Cup.

Stop crying over spilt milk, and enjoy some good soccer.

I, for one, enjoy a good soccer game, and really could care less how Denmark is doing. I guess it is a bit different with Italy, who is supposed to be a forza.

Dane, it's not my party so I shouldn't cry if I want to.

The Azzurri were not a forza qualifying for Spain82. They lost in Rome to Denmark (3-1) and were whistled and hissed of the field. You must remember that one, the Danes had young players in their lineup: Soren Lerby Michael Laudrup, Preben Elkjaer and Jesper Olsen.

Preben Elkjaer would eventually win the scudetto with Verona - VERONA in 1985 and Laudrup won the Champions Cup with Juventus that same year. You remember that don't you?

I'm sure the Brazilian team are watching it over and over again too. They should be chomping at the bit. They should have at least a decent world cup this time around. If they don't then Brazilian soccer needs a rebuild.

Here
I like to wait until the end of the first round before making any predictions... that is until I have seen all the teams play one game.

One of the problems with futbol is that there much too much over analysis, hype and BS. Of course there are many teams that don't have a chance, but when it comes to teams like Spain, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Denmark, France, Portugal, England, etc., in a tournament like this much depends on how the teams are playing at the time and how the brackets unfold.

Soccer is, to me, the supreme test of impromptu teamwork in sports.

So, I am ready! Bring it on!!!!!

Toronto is such a multi-cultural city and I know there are plenty of bars showing the World Cup in the GTA starting today. Does anyone here know the names of some popular hot spots (bars, pubs etc.) where Russian fans will be watching the games? I'd like to pretend I'm watching abroad in Russia, but since I'm not. :( I feel like watching some of the games in the host country's bars in Toronto. Thanks in advance!

Poland's status as the dark horse is under threat.

Kamil Glik, the best defender in the world is injured...unless you consider Sergio Ramos in his class. The Polish defense will be unsettled without him, look at TFC without Chris Mavinga.

If he were not injured he probably would be in Russia with France.

Canadian broadcasters are way behind in soccer know how. They keeping bringing up Owen Hargraves, but never mention Bryan Cristante. He's 23 and has signed with Roma. Naingollan will go for the big contract and Cristante will take his place. He's not as physical as the Belgium but he's a better passer and more creative. I like it!

They've also signed Hector Moreno which makes Thomas Vermaelen expendable. Justin Kluivert is taking his medical as I type. Real Madrid has put in a transfer offer for Alisson Becker.
