As much as Trump, Merkel and Macron.

Why are you so obsessed with Trudeau? What happened to your Hillary obsession?!
They are all failing. Trudeau is my PM. My primary criticism for this foreign policy failure is reserved for him.

At least Europe has the excuse of reliance on Russian gas. What's Trudeau's excuse?

You keep deflecting to the the USA.

We live in Canada. What is Trudeau doing?
Again you keep on deflecting, as this thread is about the KGB and the UK poisoning. Yet, you are trying to make excuses for Trump and have not answered the questions, as the US sanctions have nothing to do with this poisoning, but were specific to the interference by Russia in the 2016 elections. What exactly do you now want Canada to implement, as the US has not implemented and general trade sanctions, but were specific to organizations / individuals that were accused of interference in their 2016 elections? Yes I would want trade sanctions implemented by all countries that would hurt Russia. But if that is not happening what is your response?

Other than the use of an extremely dangerous nerve agent in a foreign country against a resident of that country?

Nothing they haven't done before. He should've entered the witness protection program in America.

Right.....this is about something that happened in the UK. You are harping on what the response that ONLY Trump has an obligation to pursue? Is that what you are saying?

Its an attack on a NATO partner. What is the response of our PM?

So far nothing.

Trudeau has condemned the attack and supports the UK’s assertion that Russia is behind it. Beyond that, though, Canada has not taken any further steps such as expelling Russian diplomats, etc. Thus far I don’t think any of the other NATO allies have done anything either.

I agree, though, that NATO and other nations should take some collective action against Russia.

Exactly. So why does the USA have a special obligation beyond every other NATO partner. That is the point.

Never and his ilk are politicizing this to an attack on a President they don't like. But refuse to see the hypocrisy in not doing the same for a PM they do.

I say they are all failing.

Pretty much guaranteed that some one will bring up a president of a foreign country, when Trudeau makes an ass of himself again, a discussion about daylight saving, the Leafs lose a game, its cloudy, their cat died,...

Well...I think there is perhaps a higher expectation placed on the US given their position as the biggest, strongest, wealthiest, and most militarily powerful member of NATO to demonstrate some leadership on this. Unfortunately I think Trump’s fractured, awkward relationships with NATO allies along with his America-First approach to international affairs makes this difficult.

Moreover, Trump’s unwillingness in the past to implement sanctions against Russia and his reluctance to criticize Putin have led many to question whether Putin has dirt on him and whether he’s even capable of standing up to Russia. In fairness, Trump has condemned Russia over this most recent attack in the UK- to many, though, this response comes off seeming “a day late and a dollar short” in light of his previous reluctance to stand up to the Russians.

Samples are being provided by the the U.K. to the OCPW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) which polices the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1997, to which Russian, the U.K., Canada, and the U.S.A. are all part.

That makes this justifiable or acceptable how?
It's wrong by our standards. Very wrong. By the Russian standards, no death is too gruesome for a traitor against the motherland. Nobody will shed a tear, over there.

Have you and Danmand gotten your plans going for a bonfire and the singing of the Госуда́рственный гимн Росси́йской Федера́ции, and the Internationale on Kupala Night?

If you decide you are gonna betray a powerful country in the spy game, you kinda have to accept you are likely to be killed...unless you are really stupid.
Russia could have killed Skripal while they had him in their custody but they chose not to. Instead they used him in a spy swap to get back 10 of their own spies in the US.

If you wanna look at this in the crudest possible way, the US/UK gave up assets in exchange for Skripal...and then Russia turned around and killed him after they got their own spies back. Putin reneged on his deal. I guess Britain should just round up some random Russians on Visas in the UK and kill them to even the score?

Which again makes this justifiable or acceptable in what fashion?
Its the rules of the game, and he knew it, and he still betrayed his country possibly costing people their lives. I have no sympathy for him or anyone in that sick game.
