So in an active shooter situation, you have multiple teachers with guns (no doubt inadequately trained), you have the shooter (or shooters) with guns, and then you have LE trying to control, enter the school, and end the situation. What could possibly go wrong here? (Don't ask Phil "Rambo" McNasty - he'll have already taken out the badguys, no doubt holding his handgun sideways because it looks so BADASS).

Phil has over 12,000 posts since 2010 and I'm guessing that most of them are him trolling in the "General Area".

Phil: Do you have a job? Do you have an SO? Do you see escorts, or MPA's? Any reviews?

Or are you a shut-in?

It's almost a shame that Terb doesn't have a link to GoFundMe - it would almost be worth it to set up something for Phil so he could get his dick wet every now and then.

That's really sad and pathetic. You have Matlock on in the background while you troll TERB?

I'll do you a favour and leave you alone now to your thoughts, and keyboard.

Getting back on-topic, some of Trumps' tweets which I think some might actually be good ideas:

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

....History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive. GREAT DETERRENT!

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

I never said “give teachers guns” like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience - only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to

The idea of a highly trained teachers is ridiculous. Cops are supposed to handle guns yet they don't get adequate firearms training so why would we thing teachers would get the proper training.

Speaking to a police officer he was saying that to be well training in firing accurately you need to fire hundreds of rounds each week to maintain the skill at a high level. Never mind training on drawing and reloading or group tactics.

But as someone else pointed out.... armed intruder, armed teachers and armed police response could just as easily result in friendly fire casualty. There's also the assumption that the teacher will be able to shoot the intruder and NOT hit a bystanding child.

Frankly I don't see the reason why an average citizen should have anything more than a single shot rifle or double barreled shotgun.... perfect for hunting animals.... fighting off the King of England or masked intruders is largely fantasy.

The idea that armed teachers would be a deterent is false security. These shooters typically don't have an escape plan which means they expect to meet armed resistance sooner or later.

They need to make changes in the law.... for example you can buy a used gun in a private sale without background checks. They should be treated like used cars where you need to change ownership etc.

"Only 155 hours". Yes, that's the training. Practice is ongoing. In fact nobody in LE goes without dedicated practice regularly. And you DO realize that 155 hours of training is like 20 days of fulltime training. Take a guess at the cost of that training, my ignorant friend. Now ask yourself another obvious question: How well are teachers funded right now in the U.S.? Where the hell are they going to get money for gun training - even if it was 10% of what any real LE officer would get.
The amount of training LE receives is grossly overstated. The average beat cop will get maybe an intorductory 2 week crash course on firearms training and shoots once a year to qualify from then on. You see it at the range when weekend warriors shoot circles around the cops that show up once in a while.

Doing it because you enjoy it and want to improve and doing it because it's a job requirement and scraping by are different things and it shows.

That wouldnt have stopped this shooting, Cruz bought his legally at this store: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...n-nikolas-cruz-shutter-shop-article-1.3825134

I think a 21-year old age limit for any type of firearm is a good start.
It may not stop all shootings, but it might stop a few

At no point did I say it would stop the Cruz incident nor did I say it was the only change. Much like the 21 age limit.... it is a start.

We could argue that Sandy hook shooter used his mom's gun so age limit didn't stop that one.

The point is that if you combine a few laws together they could help lower the number of unnecessary deaths by guns.

Except for New England and California, the legislative cannot impose any restrictions that will annoy firearms owners. Otherwise, they will get turfed out of office. Democrats know this.
Except polls of the US including polls of gun owners show a majority support greater restrictions.

This is a deal if you want to hope for any progress. If the pot isn't any sweeter than, "on the bright side, you get to keep what we haven't yet taken...for now" then don't be surprised if the response is no. Like it or not, you're the just the vocal minority; most Americans like, own and use their firearms responsibly.
How about this deal. The NRA supports sensible restrictions on mentally ill owning guns and federal background checks and the youth will stop exposing the NRA as a disgusting group?

When's the last time a teacher in the US went postal and shoot up his/her school??
Plenty of videos online about teachers snapping in class.

p.s. I'll repeat my observation that many of the people wanting armed teachers are also the ones who think teachers are incompetent.

So the answer is teacher or trained staff to carry guns? LOL

Sounds good. In that case, a school might have 10 staff members qualifying to carry a gun.

All that we need is a pissed off student to grab the gun (from their holster or from their desk), and blast away.

So to cut down on gun shootings, have every school have more guns. Haha
