Unfortunately many nfl fans are ok with that because it confirms their flawed profile of crooked / dumb / spoiled black athletes. When a black athlete challenges things well that doesn’t sit well with them.Meanwhile child abusing Adrian Peterson is playing, cocaine addled Micheal Irvin, cheating Tom Brady deflate gate, videotaping opponent practice Bill Bellicheck, homophobic comment making assistant coach Mike Priefer, sexual assaulting Ben Rothesberger, dog abusing Micheal Vick all have/had jobs.
All of those things are okay but heaven forbid you kneel protesting black social problems.
As if none of these guys were "distractions"
There are plenty of teams with worse QBs than CK.
The nfl paid 100s of millions out for concussion suit. they will pay off CK too. That stuff is drop in the bucket for the league.
It's the residual racism of much of white America, continuing to this day. It's the reason Trump engages in attacking the protests, essentially pandering to his base.Unfortunately many nfl fans are ok with that because it confirms their flawed profile of crooked / dumb / spoiled black athletes. Particularly if you are not Black.Beyonce awards CK Sports Illustrated's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award, which celebrates athletes whose career has directly or indirectly impacted the world - an award most athletes can only dream of.
Outside of hockey, how many top pro athletes are white these days? A few QB's. Some baseball players? The vast majority of top athletes are Black.Particularly if you are not Black.
Didn't Beyonce come out in support for Clinton and even sing for her? Didn't help and it won't here either.Beyonce awards CK Sports Illustrated's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award, which celebrates athletes whose career has directly or indirectly impacted the world - an award most athletes can only dream of.
You have a narrow view of "top athlete". There is large mix of elite white athletes in many sports - soccer, golf, winter sports, tennis, swimming, gymnastic, ice skating, wrestling, MMA, hockey, racing, boxing, baseball.Outside of hockey, how many top pro athletes are white these days? A lot of the sports you mentioned are less popular in the US. Popularity is important as it translates to ability to reach a large audience/have impact. In US I'd say football, baseball, nascar, hockey are the big four. You have a narrow view of "top athlete". A white guy would have to raise a shit ton of money or champion a major cause to trump police violence vs minorities.Particularly if you are not Black.

Sounds like JJ WattA white guy would have to raise a shit ton of money or champion a major cause to trump police violence vs minorities.
How about that $89,000,000 the NFL just donated?? Sounds like a win to me!Didn't Beyonce come out in support for Clinton and even sing for her? Didn't help and it won't here either.
JJ raised a lot but other white guys have donated more than him so he's out of luck.Basketball is a much bigger game in the USA than hockey is
Sounds like JJ Watt
Totally agree I think it is odd that there are people taking glee in his situation.Isn't it time people get over this? The man took a knee during the anthem to protest social injustice. I prefer he used another method, but that might not have drawn the necessary attention.
To suggest he didn't see this coming is absurd. He was asked every press gathering in every city if he understood this would jeopardize his career. He was even asked if he feared for his personal safety. He knew exactly what he was doing.
The league just committed $89 million to social injustice causes. That is thanks to CK! Him not getting a job in the NFL? That only makes his case stronger.
For all of you taking glee in his not playing? Hate to tell you this, but he won!
Only if you think money alone solves problems. By the time the SJW vultures and corporate bureaucracy eat thru those funds for their own private jets, fast cars, big houses, and wining & dining, there will be pennies left for the "cause".How about that $89,000,000 the NFL just donated?? Sounds like a win to me!
This is your fantasy of what will happen, Smallcock. The reality is that the $ will go to the intended recipients. You just can't handle the fact that CK has won any measure of success.Only if you think money alone solves problems. Congrats!
Agreed. Can't celebrate JJ and not CK because by that same line of thinking the 37 million JJ raised (by getting over 209 000 people to donate) should also be eaten up in beauracracy.Whatever your view is of how that money is ultimately dished out, the fact is that money is never committed without Kaepernick's protest. He was the catalyst that brought all of this about. J.J. Watt is being honoured for raising less than half of that for hurricane relief.
You can downplay it if it makes you feel better but this is a tremendous victory for him and the cause he is fighting for.
