The cost of going to a game is very expensive and good seats are hard to get.

Asking people to spend 3 hours on a Sunday or stay up late on a Monday or Thursday is a lot to ask.

When I was younger and had no responsibilities I could set aside an entire Sunday etc.

It's the same reason I don't watch WWE..... just don't have time to dedicated 4 hours to Raw and Smackdown.

Fans who go to NFL games do not mind the 4hrs of standing up. YOU know that a head of time!
BILLS games are always sold out no matter how crappy the opponent.
Just because one game on TV has low ratings doesn't mean the other 14 games are the same....

NFL games are only licensed to be shown on FOX, CBS, ABC, and ESPN (sometimes the NFLnetwork).
ie....Monday Night Football is on tonight on ESPN

For one I don't understand why they hate Canada so much. Our cable providers lost the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket.
I think the way the league has handled some issues - players spousal abuse, Deflate-gate, CTE etc. leaves something to be desired.
The rule changes and interpretation have led to some confusion and longer games because of it.
And of course the Kaepernick led protests of the national anthem has been a growing controversy and have pissed off many fans. This past weekend was really an ugly display.

That NFL games are not longer, they are actually toned down because more BLACKs entered the NFL
with more Type-A muscle fibers. They are bigger, heavier, a lot faster, stronger, meaner, and more athletic.
There is a reason there are more concussions.

It's very unfortunate what's happening. Sports and politics aren't supposed to go together which is why countries like N. Korea are allowed to compete in the World Cup. If I want to watch politics I'll watch a politics channel.

and believe it or not, the players (not the QB's or WR's) are paid in peanuts compared to the owners.

What will be interesting is whether viewership live and on TV declines after last weekend? Direct TV is offering refunds on NFL subscriptions. You can bet last weekend didn't generate more subscriptions. If ratings drop any more it will be concerning to the league. They'll have to suck up to fans again. Americans love their NFL, but they love their military and flag even more.
