Trade DeRozan to Minnesota for Wiggins and some filler to make the trade work. Let's start building around Wiggins right now.

What makes you think the Wolves or the Raptors would remotely consider this trade?
It's a no brainer for Minnesota. If they really want to turn the corner this is the trade they make to catapult them to a guaranteed playoff team. DeRozan, Butler, and Anthony-Towns would be one hell of a big 3.

Raptors would be buying low with Wiggins who's a natural small forward as is Butler. Though Wiggins averaged 23.6 points per game last year he had among the worst PERs among players who averaged 20 or more points.

I'd do it. Things will be difficult for DeRozan without Lowry and the culture reset may just require the leaders of the team to move on.

How has rebuilding with Wiggins gone for Minestota ? Wiggins personality isn't suited for franchise player status . Heck he couldn't even lead a Canadian team into the Olympics ..

It's MINNESOTA man... NBA careers go to die there. 100% sure Wiggins will be a franchise player if he were in Toronto.

So trade a known commodity that is performing for a player with potential? If Demar was getting old then getting rid of him would make sense but right now he is playing well.

If you think DeRozan will have problems without Lowry(assuming that happens), how do you think Wiggens will perform without a decent PG? Wiggens is a decent player, but far from a stud. Wiggens is better off with the Wolves.
Wait and see what Masai does, this Raptor team needs tweaking more than they need a tear down and rebuild

Even if Lowry comes back, the Raptors may become the 4-5 best team in the east with the resurgence of Boston, Washington and Milwaukee. They were the second best from two years ago but have been slipping. They'll need more than just tweaking, especially with the pending ufa's.

If Lowry leaves and you have to rely on Joseph and Wright as your leading point guards, they'll probably struggle to make the playoffs.

Chris Paul traded to Houston. Clippers might now be in the running for Lowry.
Interesting....Paul picks up his option now that he has been traded to where he wants to play, he would have opted for free agency rather than remain a Clipper. Clippers may not have a lot to offer Lowry if he is looking for a ring. Spurs have Leonard, so doubt he goes there and they apparently are looking to reduce salary. Lowry's options are dwindling and I am guessing so is max compensation.

Unless Houston can sign a third superstar like Paul George, getting Chris Paul won't really help them beat the Warriors. If Lebron and Kyrie can't beat the Warriors, Harden and Chris Paul obviously won't either.

Masai should offer him $25 million a year for 5 years with a team option in the 3rd year. Without the team option it's between $18 and $20 million a year for 5 years. This would be a very fair deal for Lowry IMHO.

If you're the 4th or 5th best team you will make the playoffs given 8 teams make it. Making it past first and second round will be tougher for sure.

Phil Jackson was fired by the Knicks. Owner of Knicks wants to hire Masai.

I hope that doesn't happen. I was unsure about Ujiri when he came but he has producted the best looking product we've seen in the history of the franchise..... well okay the VC/TMac era was pretty fun too.

I think Lowry is going to stay a raptor and we won't have to offer him max money because his options are shrinking fast. There is no team that needs a PG to win right now. So paying the high price tag for an aging PG makes no sense unless you think your shot is this year or next.

The Raptors want Lebon and that will never happen .. Just cause you want something ( Knicks want Raps president ) doesn't men you will get it .. The Knicks wanted Kerr but he went to Golden State .

Oh by the way .. Confused .. Love Masai but what has he done with Raps that makes him in such demand .
The core roster is mostly the previous GM .. Bruno and Carol is this GM doing ..

He found someone to take Andrea Bargnani. Isn't that enough?

When did the Raps start to come together?.......IMO it was when Masai sent Gay to the Kings!
Bruno, to date, has been a bust, DC has not been as good as was expected, but, he can play D, and because the salaries in the NBA are unbelievable, is paid about what he is worth.
Hope the Raps hold Masai to his contract or at the very least get Porzingas if they allow him to go to NY.

There is a report out saying P J Tucker will sign a 4 year 32 M contract with the Rockets. I would have thought the Raps would be willing to pay 8 M a year to keep him, wonder if the 4 years was considered too long or he just preferred Houston?

I would have signed with Houston too:

1. Better chance of winning a championship vs. the raptors
2. Net income will be higher in Houston due to income tax considerations if the Raptors made the same offer.
