Somehow I don't think a parking spot registers on the same level as fundamental humans rights (which is the closest thing to an otherwise fictional "universal law").In the state of California it is illegal to stand in a parking spot to hold it for someone. i think it could be the same in Toronto or Ontario for that matter. Any lawyers here? Seems like a universal law.
