If you're crossing the street and there's a car wanting to turn, are you the type of person to

1 - let the car through since they have the motion and it'll only take a second or two for you to wait, but it'll be easier to let them through and go on because I know I appreciate it when people do it for me or someone I'm riding with.
2 - do you give them a dirty look like "I have the right of way, I'm not gonna be nice and I'm not in the mood" (type power trip).

I'm 1 in all scenarios, it's a small gesture but it makes a big difference for the driver and it's nice to be nice right?
Even in a parking lot, if I see a car wants to move on, I'll go around the car, let to let them drive on without having to wait for me to cross.

Today I saw quite a few people at Square One be total douchebags in taking their time and inconveniencing cars because "me first" type mentality, the fuck is wrong with people today.
Be nice, it only takes a couple of seconds.

Most definitely #1...in most instances. But very occasionally there are times I put my priorities first and the car can wait.

That's fair and reasonable, can't say that's wrong. I've done it myself - running to doctor, vet for my dog.
But today people were clearly in no rush, just going to the mall walking in the middle of the parking lanes with zero fucks given, turning out, etc.

Somewhere between here and there

Or the asshat that cross and don't look. I guess they don't teach to look both ways anymore. Or and I am a 1 in most scenarios

I’m number 1, but you have to make sure there is no one walking up behind you who is blindly going to proceed into the intersection.

I am 1.5 - the traffic laws are on my side as a pedestrian, I am using my legs and not an engine connected to wheels, so I am the one with the right-of-way under almost all circumstances no matter what!
Having said this, I do try my best not to stall unnecessarily, and cross as safely and as quickly as I can!

I'm a 1.
Parking lots at a mall or store are the worst. People just don't care and walk right out in front of a car.

I was driving the lane to get out of the plaza. This particular store had yellow painted speed bumps. Wide ones and were intended for people to cross over at. I was approaching one and I saw a dude walking towards my opposite direction. Cudos to him he was intending to use the marked crossing instead of just walking out anywhere. But surprised the hell out of me when we made eye contact made a sprint for the yellow crossing and I had to slam the brakes.

Here
I actually hit a pedestrian in a shopping mall one time. She just walked right out in front of my car, she wasn't hurt but the police were called while waiting for the police people were screaming saying she had the right away. When the police arrived they talked to the witnesses and viewed my dash cam then told the lady she was dead wrong because she did not exercise do care and attention while crossing the road. Pedestrians do not have the right of way in a parking lot

number 1 definitely, no reason to be a number 2 as i'm not bothered enough
Another good way to put it for #2 "can't be bothered", it's so easy just to stop, hug the car lanes when walking through parked cars, etc.
Seeing everyone walk in the middle of the road between parked cars blew my mind, it's such a dick move.

Ok, I'll do you one better. When you go thru a door in public do you 1 go thru and go about your business or 2 turn around and look to see if anyone else is near by and wait and hold it for them?

I'll do you one better on doing one better, I check the reflection of the door and if I see someone behind me, yeah I'll open it for them if they're close enough.

Your parents raised a good man. I'm a prolific door holder. Sometimes I end up holding it for multiple people and they are all pleasantly confused by my courteous gesture. I guess it's a thing of the past. 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

They really are. It seems like it was totally unexpected. Which kinda sad. If your hand is already holding the door open it takes nothing to make sure there is no one else on their way thru the door. Let's make courtesy 'common' again.
