Kadri, as already stated, will not be suspended. his hit was just fine. Did not leave the ice, kept elbow in, initial/main contact was shoulder on shoulder.
Loved how Kadri held off Hansen with one hand until he was ready.

Here is a link to the Kadri hit from a different angle. Clear shoulder on shoulder on a player with the puck.

Thanks for posting. I watched all the replays in slo-mo and although it wasn't conclusive, I didn't think it was a direct head shot. This confirms it. What made people think it was a head shot was the Sedin's helmet came off. The reason it did is because his chin strap was loose and thus struck his unprotected head on the ice when he went down.

The other thing you have to take into consideration is that we all get to analyse these hits in slo-mo, from many different angles after the fact. The game on the ice is super fast. Players can change body position a split-second before a hit. That can turn what was going to be a clean hit with no intent into a dirty one in an instant. At the speeds they're going, it's sometimes next to impossible to change the momentum of a 200+ lb. player on skates, in a blink of an eye.

Kadri plays with an edge. Hockey is a collision sport and sometimes shit happens. In this case, it was a clean hit and the decision not to suspend him was the right one.

Change of topic.

Of the current Leafs defensemen Nikita Zaitsev is logging the most ice time at 22 minutes a game. He's played very well but so far hasn't played the dominant game he played against North America in the WC. Supposedly he's somewhat homesick, fortunately for us he's struck up an instant friendship with Leo Komarov. They are room mates on the road. He's on a one year contract, an extension is inevitable. It's all a matter of if he accepts.

For our sake, let's hope so.

LA and Trump or not even closely related. In LA Hilary won by a landslide because LA movie stars and hipsters are no doubt democrats. The Leafs will learn from this loss, doubt if America will ever learn.

not always sure...
Meanwhile - second overall pick Patrik Laine scored his second hat trick of the season with Winnipeg last night.
Leads the league with 11 goals in 14 games.
The Jets continue to impress with their drafting… Go, Jets Go.

It'll be interesting to see if Babcock makes any line changes. I'd like to see Sosnitkov on either Matthew-Nylander or Kadri-Komarov line. I think he has more offensive skills than Hyman and Brown.

Of course Laine will prosper this year. The Jets have a better defense than the Leafs, Matthews has to work harder to get points.

Marincin has been a disaster, even though he scored, and Polak has a WC hangover. I'm please to hear that Corrado will get a chance to play but not at the expense of killing Connor Carrick's confidence.

Babcock is probably the most over rated coachs not only in NHL but all of sports. This guy has done a lot with A LOT (and I mean A LOT especially the Canadian national teams). When he has little he tanks.

I would wager my left nut that the Leafs will be lucky to make the playoffs once before his contract expires...if he lasts.

How so? Rielly has had enough time to "mature" and he hasn't. Gardiner was supposed to be a top 4 d and he isn't. How many years we have to wait for "maturation"?

Well he did warn the Leafs that he is the true # 1 pick . At 6'5" and with his shot I would have taken him.

You haven't been watching, have you. Rielly and Zaitsev are playing well enough and Gardiner has improved, after them there is a huge drop off. Laine and Schieffle have more offensive freedom because their defense can transition much faster than the Leafs. I've said from the very beginning that this is another lottery pick year. The Leafs have had to develop from rock bottom, decades of manegerial abuse cannot be corrected in 3 years.

Nope. Haven't watched one game Only guy watching is you. With your vast NHL IQ only you, and you only, know what this team is up to.

You do realize they have the highest shots against in the league right? That means they are shit defensively. Leafs won't go anywhere. No rebuild. No nothing. Just the same old bungling garbage team it's been for decades

You do realize The team with second highest shots against is the defending champ Pittsburgh right ? That means they are shit as well and going nowhere right ? Montreal is on top of the table and allows one shot less per game at 5th worse so they must be shit as well right ?

Nonesense. It's only like 15 games into their NHL careers. Laine playing with 2 NHL vets. Matthews is playing with 2 rookies. Not to take anything away from Nylander but their all rookies going up against most NHL vets.
