Although soccer is the top team sport, 4 medals makes Penny the most successful Cdn Olympian of all time. Even if Team Sinclair wins gold, I say Penny takes the flag. This was a historic performance for the ages, not just this Olympics.
We can debate, but we shall see sunday.

You certainly can't mean the 200m. Bolt is a lock there. Now the 4X100 relay is a bit of a crap shoot with disqualifications and dropped batons so Canada actually has a shot at gold there.
So if ADG wins a gold in relay, silver in 200m and bronze in 100m, well that's quite the performance. Men's track is generally considered higher profile than women's swim. We would have 2 worthy flag bearers.

Volleyball is structured like football in Europe with each country having it's own league. They earn a good living - not quite CR7 numbers but good enough.
Why did Canada lose a chance at gold in women's football, inflexibility of tactics. That's the weakness of an English coach. If you're best playmaker (Ashley Lawrence) is used to patch the defense then someone should have taken her place. The Germans were ready, they were always two steps ahead of the Canadians. Sinclair should have played deeper our midfield turned the ball over to the Germans with regularity, she didn't and we lost. No gold for us!

And Sinclair no longer has the foot speed to be a centre-foward. By not adapting she killed two birds with one stone, Melissa Tancredi is useless as a winger. Beckie missed two scoring chances but that happens so I'm left to ask: Why didn't Sinclair drop into the midfield?

Derek Droun's personal best is 2.40, would have been awesome for him to own the Olympic record.

Melissa Bishop ran her first heat in the 800M this am and was slotted in same heat to runner who beat her at worlds last year! She nipped her at the end in an easy pace and moves on to semis. She's looking good to go!

Actually, Canada's Debbie Brill independently invented jumping "back first" (the Brill Bend) over the bar at the same time that Fosbury did, since he won Gold at the '68 games. he got the credit for this new jumping style.

Thanks, didn't know that about Volleyball, now I'm a little surprised we are as competitive as we are.
With the US out I was really hoping for a Canadian Gold medal in soccer, would have been nice to keep it on the continent.
I don't think Sweden will be able to count on a PK victory against Germany, they will have to score to win that game.
Let's hope our neighbors come home with Bronze.
