It's too bad Sanchez is in his seventh year pitching for the Blue Jays organization and he's still on innings limits because of microscopically tiny increments they allowed him every year in his development.

This was a few days back before the change in decision, but John Smoltz raises a good point. If they truly had an IP limit, then start him in the bullpen and then move him into the rotation later in the year so he can continue into the stretch run and playoffs. The flip-flopping back and forth is the most dangerous.
Smoltz is a good commentator and of course knows a little something about pitching as a HOF'r.
The bullpen is coming together really nicely right now.
I really like this Danny Barnes. He's brilliant at getting out left handers and is a big upgrade on Loup who had that job last year.
I also have high hopes for Barnes. The bullpen has been good of late, but not sure we have the shutdown guys in high leverage situations YET. Looking at our bullpen: Osuna, Cecil, Grilli, Benoit, Barnes, Biagni, Feldman (mop-up guy).
Osuna is our only true high leverage guy; as Buck/Pat say, even if it's the 8th inning with man on bases with heart of the order up, Gibby should bring in Osuna. Let's another guy handle the 9th against the weaker bottom of the order.
Cecil is rounding into form and looking great against lefties. But still a L/L specialist.
Grilli has been great, but still have some doubts in truly H/L situ. I see Grilli and Benoit as this year's Lowe and Hawkins. Very good, but do you bring them in with the season on the line.
Which leaves Barnes and Biagini. We had Osuna in 2015 and Henke in 1989 come out of nowhere to give us the extra jolt. I think one of these guys have to go on a hot streak, and pitch out of their mind for us to get far in the playoffs.
You have to hand it to Alex Anthopoulos for getting Devon Travis for some guy who's floundering in double A right now and also for picking up Marco Estrada for not much more than a dirt sandwich.
It's too bad he couldn't work with Shapiro because I think those 2 would have worked out really well together.
AA was fearless, he traded Marco for Adam Lind who had a decent year (against righties), but yeh we fleeced both deals. But give credit to Shapiro for re-signing Marco who was a FA and avail to all teams.
