But if you collect them all, you probably get a big reward. Something like: "Congratulations! You collected all of the Pokemon!"No interest whatsoever.
You're telling me that's not worth it?

Don't pat yourself on the back. I read your post, and reworked my response to be similar to yours.
Well if you're as old as your comments make you look like, I guess you might not be around that much longer to see the world play with rainbow coloured cartoons that seem to get you all hot and bothered.Pretty sad state of youth and man-children when it takes a silly game based off rainbow coloured cartoon characters to get them out of the house.
Finish this however you wantI have no problem telling people that when I was a kid we rode bikes all over town (streets and trails), played in the park, played street hockey. And simply.... gasp.... a bunch of us would just get together and walk around the neighbourhood or to each other's home. Some f my best memories was playing hockey or football where there was a mix of kids and people's older brothers all having fun playing till dark.
Yeah. One day you will will be old too. And bitching about how in your day you got off your ass to play Pokémon Go unlike the lazy kids of today who spend too much time on their VR helmets and suits.
Welcome to the world of adults where what we did was best. Don't worry. You will get your turn.
Your disdain for my generation is amusing. There was this angry old man in my neighbourhood when I was younger. For some reason, he was always angry at the kids in the area, yelling for some reason or the other, and at times, just being angry for no apparent reason. You remind me of him right now.Yeah.
Last gen people: We were active kids, played sports, did things outside until dark
Piano8950: We stayed indoors all day staring at cellphones. But there was this great game called Pokemon Go that changed everything. The objective is to collect brightly coloured cartoon characters meant for 8 year olds. The kicker is so innovative too. What you have to do is something called "Go outside".
Well stated. What a bunch of old miserable fucks complaining and bitching about every minute of their life because they have no one one left to love and realize no one loves them, they are pathetic and just count their days till their spirit or whatevet is left of their worthless existence dissapears and no one knows they existed. Bunch of fucking losers projecting their faliures onto others and just spreading their poison with no meaning and they can't even begin to understand what is going on...which is typical of their kind.Your disdain for my generation is amusing. What's actually funny is that I don't play PokemonGo and have never really followed the cartoon when it was on, but I know a lot of people from different age groups who are fans and do play it. They are a diverse set, many quite successful in their own right, some fitter then you probably ever have been. But I do find people like you, who are quick to put down others for their interests repulsive. You are the guy who is miserable for others for enjoying something, just because of some deep seated insecurity, or who knows what.
Anyway, feel free to go on your PokemonGo hate. I imagine this will be you soon enough.
What it actually encourages (which is a common theme for freemium games) is spending real world money to get ahead fasterIt may not be for you but you might know a few kids who could use the exercise this game encourages.
I doubted these kids will get their turn. I don't think they will live as long like our generation from lack of outdoor activities and exercise. I used to have an employee who plays computer games till 3-4 am and came into work late almost every week. He doesn't look healthy at all. Muscles are made to move. Use it or lose it.One day you will will be old too. And bitching about how in your day you got off your ass to play Pokémon Go unlike the lazy kids of today who spend too much time on their VR helmets and suits.

Put me squarely in the "it's fucking stupid" camp.
But I feel that way about ALL video games.
It's a great activity for kids. I see why it would appeal to them. Novel games that they can spend hours every day playing is what kids do. But if grown adults are playing it, it's quite sad. What camp do you fall into?PokemonGo is a game. Not meant for many who have replied on this thread, as they are too old for certain activities, including walking and possibly interacting with other people.
Recommended activities for said old people can include:
- putting coins into a machine and pushing a button in the hopes of winning a jackpot
- buffets
- complaining about today's youth
- complaining about high prices and lamenting on the good old days when cabbage was 5 cents a head
- complaining about immigrants
- pretending to be the generation that fought in ww2
- sitting while watching horses run around, and claim it's a better activity then a game they've never played

Pokemon was/is a cartoon from Japan. It captured the imagination of millions of children for a variety of reasons, and PokemonGo uses the tech abilities of a cell phone to somewhat replicate that experience. In a sense, many love this game for its nostalgic value. It's fiercely addictive, but unlike other addictive games, this one forces you to get out of your house, and get some fresh air and a light exercise. There are gathering points which help you obtain items, where people of like minds usually congregate, usually in a spot with some local significance. Many players have actually reported seeing a lot more of their cities, towns, neighbourhoods because of this game. And out of millions of users, a few were due to win the Darwin awards by doing something colossally stupid.

Second. The same company, niantic, made an earlier game but it wasn't as popular. It also wasn't as advanced, it didn't have the video bit working, it was just map based. This is the first Augmented Reality (AR) game and based on its massive success you're likely to see many others.
Nintendo's value has doubled since release.
But how is it making money exactly? if to download the app is free?Second. The same company, niantic, made an earlier game but it wasn't as popular. It also wasn't as advanced, it didn't have the video bit working, it was just map based.
But yes, every mobile gaming company will be jealously eyeballing they money this thing is making.
In game purchases. It's taking in around $1.6 million per day, which is more than all other mobile games COMBINED. And that is with release only in the US, it hasn't launched yet in several key countries like Japan. But how is it making money exactly? if to download the app is free?
