An armed man in Sacramento allegedly charged at two police officers with a knife on Monday morning, prompting the two officers to fire shots that resulted in the man’s death.
Police responded to calls of a black man in his 50s or 60s wielding a gun and a knife that morning, according to local Fox 40 news. Two officers responding to the calls approached the man, who then fled.

It wasn’t until the non-compliant suspect allegedly charged at the two officers with a knife that they fired at the man, according to the report. The suspect was taken to an area hospital. He has now been pronounced dead, according to Sacramento reporter Joe Khalil

Khalil further posted that whether the suspect’s motive was related to recent police shooting or not.

One officer was injured as he exited a vehicle and chased the suspect, according to the local news report.

Police have faced harsh criticism from groups like Black Lives Matter over officer-involved shootings of black individuals. Last Thursday, Micah X. Johnson, who expressed being upset over Black Lives Matter and told police he wanted to kill white people, especially white police, killed five officers and wounded seven more, as well as two civilians, near the end of a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, Texas. He died in a standoff with police.

Last Friday, also in Sacramento, an armored truck driver was shot when, police say, a 45-year-old black man approached the guard as he carried a bag of cash from a Golden One branch to his Brinks armored vehicle. The guard returned fire at the suspect, who has been arrested and faces charges of robbery and attempted murder.

Witnesses described the guard as Hispanic, according to the local news report. Appearing to have no concern for differences in skin color, a black man and his son rushed to the aid of the guard, one using the shirt off of his back to help stop the guard from bleeding. A photo and video of the Good Samaritans providing assistance were posted by Fox 5 San Diego.

You are wasting your time debating with nottyboi. He is either simply trolling to wind people up or a ridiculous ideologue who has never faced real danger. Either way, you may as well piss against the wind and expect to stay dry.
Pretty fruitless trying to explain to you why killing a person is wrong. Also none of the "kill the black man" crowd can explain why it was so urgent to kill this guy that was cornered like a rat. Surely he will need water sometime? Food? Why not just make sure he is covered and wait him out while lobbing tear gas grenades and stun grenades at him?

Probably a lot since they're usually poor. http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/communities/reports/poverty_profile/snapshot.shtml

"For racialized persons living in poverty, the East and Southeast Asian groups were the most frequently cited ethnic origin (40%). The category was dominated by the Chinese group, followed by the smaller Korean, Filipino and Vietnamese groups."

"In both Toronto and Vancouver, the most common ethnic origin among poor racialized persons was East and Southeast Asian – 35% of persons in Toronto and 75% in Vancouver. In Montreal, the most common ethnic origins were East and Southeast Asian along with Arab. Both origins were reported by 21% of racialized persons living in poverty"

"Almost three-quarters (72%) of racialized persons living in poverty have a mother tongue other than English or French."

Vancouver is an interesting case. There are plenty of Chinese on welfare who live in multi-million dollar mansions there.

Then there are those like Brian Shin http://torontolife.com/city/crime/breaking-brian-shin/ and these http://torontolife.com/city/gone-to-pot-the-story-behind-torontos-100-million-marijuana-economy/
if it's true many Asians are poor, at least it shows something is right. Not everyone in the world is rich, but if many Asians are poor, but don't commit lots of crime it shows poverty =/= crime. If poor Asians can act cool, others should follow their lead.

Probably because you never know if he would suddenly pop out from cover and shoot again.

A person can last days without food and water. I don't see the need for cops to sit there for 24 or 48 hours.

Tear and stun gas doesn't mean much at all sometimes because a person is still alert. They can still blindly shoot at people and get lucky hits on people if he knows cops are about to storm him.

Occasionally, you are falling into the trap. This is not 100% an issue with the black community, and we have to stop letting people make this a race issue. It is an issue with
thugs, gangsters, wanna be gangsters, criminals and that element. The police in North America have a job to do, and they are probably one of the scrutinized police force in the world. Yet an element
of society believes that there is a conspiracy throughout the police force to discriminate against them. They have used this mantra and fear mongering to rally support for their cause, and
have managed to indoctrinate a large number of the general population, who do not seem to recognize who they have climbed into bed with.
No worries. I don't believe in any conspiracies. Most people know cops aren't the issue why many black people have struggles. But people don't care because it's not their problem. Selfishly speaking, some people prefer it that way because the more cops and blacks have issues, it leaves them in disarray, while the rest of the populace sits on the sidelines and forges ahead with western style life which for most people is..... don't cause trouble, get a decent education and job, get a home and support a family.

Most people don't want to get into spats with cops or act like idiots because they want to better themselves by focusing on numero-uno.... themselves and their families, as opposed to blaming white people, blaming cops, and getting into eternal bickering back and forth with other people.

tear gas can only work in a sealed room? Then why do they use it in riots all the time? If they could trigger c4 they could trigger stun grenades. There was no hurry to apprehend the guy, they could have waited him out and made his life hell with tear gas and stun grenades.
Yeah, and it wasn't a fair fight. One guy against at least 100 police officers and a killer robot. They should pass a law forbidding police from using killer robots. Also, the Feds need to start an investigation to determine if Mr. Johnson's civil rights were violated.

...and or just randomly come out shooting all over the place and hitting a bystander.

I'm just glad the Police Chief was black in this case, otherwise, more BLM fodder. Good call on the Chief to bomb the guy.

I would guess that waiting until a person is thirsty or hungry, you run the risk of the (angry/agitated already) person making poor decisions and could actually do more harm than good.
Considering this was downtown, the guy just shot up a protest and killed 5 of their own, it seemed rather unlikely this guy was going to give in to any demands.

Good call to take him out.

There's crime of all colours. The idea that Asians are doing well is deceiving.

Go to Markham you will find multiple families living in the same residence. That's one way to make ends meet.

There's Asian SP places only people who can read Chinese can go to. Not to mention underground gambling, contraband etc. In Toronto it is a bit more discrete than Vancouver where the problem is more in the open.

In the US there is a racial bias in the sentencing process so looking at number of blacks in prison is a bit deceiving as many whites avoid it thanks to white priveledge.

Docile Asian is a stereotype. Vancouver has had its problems with Asian gangs.

Toronto has it's yellow and brown Asian gangs too.

The sad thing about this mentality is that you can't see the truth even though you write it in your own words.

Why is it that blacks from Africa achieve more than those born in the US? I agree that some of it is institutionalized discrimination, but how much?
How is it millions of immigrants (of color) move to the US with little or no money, and yet make a better life for themselves.

The answer is that while you can blame some of it on racism, that is not the root cause of the issues. Your "blame the victim" is just nonsense.

Why is it that one segment of the population is "targeted by police"? The answer is that "one segment" is not black america. That one "segment" are the
thugs, criminals and gangsters who create the problems. The color of their skin does not matter. The fact that they are thugs, criminals and gangsters matters.
It seems silly that I have to say it, but the job of our police is to protect the rest of us from that one segment.

Rather than playing the victim/race/slavery card, maybe if you (derrick76 I am speaking directly to you) stepped up and taught your friends, family, children that you have to rise about all this BS, not sink into the gutter with it.

Your criticism of "amerikkka" is ignorant. America is far from perfect, the police treat people alot better than other countries. If you don't believe, me, go to Jamaica or many of the African
countries, and mouth off to the police and see what happens.
My criticism of Amerikkka is on point. You don't like it? Tough. deal with it. The police in America are among the worst in the world. European police are far superior. Oh, I have deal with Jamaican police many times. No worse than the American ones.

As for my family and friends, what the hell are you on about? I am from a family of lawyers, accountants and doctors. Oh...and a couple of NYPD officers as cousins.

Again, the immigrants from Africa are treated the same as the blacks born in the USA. This is a fact. Otherwise Mr Diallo would still be alive. I am not here to debate whether African born blacks are more ambitious, obedient and hard working. My point is - they are still viewed as just another n-word.

For the last time, upwardly mobile blacks are still targets for profiling. That is not up for discussion.

Interesting stats, and kind of reinforces what some are saying. These ethnic groups face poverty but dont have the same issues with police.

Its all good, keep deluding yourself. In the meantime, instead of blaming cops and society for the troubles you face, you might try aiming that anger where it belongs.

Congrats to the 3 Peel Region high school students who graduated with 100%. Of course, all 3 are ethnic Chinese (no token Jew this year). Some ethnic groups are too busy studying and learning to make a life for themselves instead of whining about "woe is me".

I think it is easy to dismiss another ethnic groups problems considering you could never know.

If you are white you probably think things are pretty good for minorities and gays. Truth is there is still a long way to go.

If Asians are getting 100% then does thst mean blacks are lazy? I spent my fair share of time in arcades and pool halls and met plenty of Asian dudes who were going no where. Skipping classes etc.

The whole pull up your boot strap mentality is just dumb. Hard work is only part of it and i am sure there are plenty of hard work i g blacks. That is about as useful as the coach who yells things like play harder.

What's obnoxious about BLM is that black crime victimizes mostly black families and is one of the reasons blacks are at a disadvantage. Black communities are in greater need of tough policing than any other. It's black kids getting addicted, black kids getting killed, black businesses getting robbed, black women getting raped, black homes getting burgled.

By black criminals.

Yet as a result of BLM police will be less effective in stopping the criminals who harm blacks.

It's self destruction.

If Asians and Indians are poorer than expected as per that link, yet still don't commit a lot of crime and do well in school, it goes to show that the usual thinking that poor = crime isn't so true after all.

If Asian often get high marks and black don't does it mean they are lazy? Maybe. Given the trend Asians often do well in school it's probably because they put more effort into it..... unless people think Asians are naturally born smarter and can do test much better than everyone else despite putting in the same or less effort.

As for them playing video games and such I saw that too. But that's probably because Asian kids don't seem to gravitate to athletics as much as white and black kids. Check out every school team and there's hardly any Asian kids. So either they don't bother doing it and focus on other stuff, or maybe they try to make the team as much as other kids but get cut. Either way, there's hardly any Asian kids on teams, so that's probably why they focus on gaming or music or something.

Musical instruments is often something that is suggested by parents as something to do. It also keeps you out of trouble, and is something akin to some cultures..... classical music. Maybe if more black families suggested their kids play the violin or something it would help, who knows. Personally, I'm not a musician, so I'm not sure how much having a kid play a musical instrument actually benefits them, but it surely doesn't seem to hurt them.

Pulling up the boot strap can be effective. It's just a matter of whether some people will listen to the advice, or brush it off as nagging. In life, you can't expect to be spoon-fed your entire life. Often times, to do better in life someone... teacher, boss, family member, friend... should only have to recommend what to do. It's now up to you to use your noggin and solve it yourself.
