Now it will continue to be endless Portugal flags on the tow trucks and construction vehicles here in Brampton lol

Ah well.
It was pathetic, from Poland I didn't expect that much, but Portugal didn't deserve to win..couldn't score a second goal against Poland Puhleeze

Poland has one of the best defenses in this tournament, the Portuglas were always going to struggle to score against them. CR7 is doing all he can, Nani has been a disappointment. Kamil Glik is among the top three defenders in the world.

At least this Belgium-Wales game is exciting. What a beautiful goal that first one.

That was a great game, I thought at the beginning that Belgium was going to kill them the way they played and then it just turned around. Very exciting till the end.

The way Wales played they must win against the Portogeese. But they had at least 3 yellow cards so we'll see.

Was working so only caught parts.

So happy Wales won, that's awesome. Glad you were able to watch it all Twister. From the recap, sounded like I missed a gem.

On the matter of the cards, any idea who from Wales is sitting out the next game as a result?

Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies, it was a really good game, fast paced. Its going to be hard for Wales without these guys.
Tomorrow too a good game but betcha its going to be at a slower pace.

I only had time for the first half, Belgium's defense is weak without Vincent Kompany. Before this tournament, I had no idea who Ashley Williams was. Now I do he is The Rock of Wales. Portugal is going to be be tougher, their defense has carried them so far.

As for Bathrust and Dundas, it is the place to go if you enjoy grilled seafood, the Portugaals know how to prepare it better than anyone. But I must warn you, if you drink the Portuguese grappa don't even think about getting behind the wheel of a car!

Glad Germany one, way too many Italians here in Hamilton and just glad I don't have to listen to them celebrating. Me, I'm cheering for the Welsh, my great grandparents came to Canada from Wales early 1900's

A lot of crazy missed penalty kicks. Neuer was great and Germany played better.

.. and Pelle' should go hiding after challenging Neuer and then missing.

I was indifferent today from a game perspective. But I have to say the casual racism against the Italians and Portuguese in the GTA is getting to me.

Brilliant game! Saw the second half in a pub and the two Welsh goals were things of beauty. Walked home humming "Land of my Fathers" and smiling!

Wouldn't a Wales v Iceland final be great. Can't see it happening but I never saw Leicester winning the Premier League.

Kathleen can I have your shoulder to cry on, I'll bring the Black Forest Cake.

To be perfectly honest I'd rather see The Azzurri go out fighting than to have further injuries and get blown out. I can accept losing to Germany - but not to the Frenchies. With DDR out along with Candreva and the rest, it was too much to ask for.

Still....

I can live with no honor, fair play and lack of sportsmanship. I can even tolerate the boredom. But!! Deciding a game by penalty shots is where I draw the line. Not on this level, anyway.

But as the game went on, and I saw Germany dominating at possession, and controlling the game saw a chance.
At 1-0 I saw more hope. The save to prevent Germany from going up 2-0 was just brilliant. Then Boateng ... ugh, that was horrible and so costly.place was mostly Italian fans, but really cool people during the game, and in defeat.

The penalty kicks were sad, but the game was well played.
..lol
Extremely well played at the Micro level but somewhat tense and lacking in bold strokes. Some of the most pathetic penalty-taking ever.

I'm surprised Boateng scored on his or that they even went to him, he had been looking nervous & shaken up from surrendering that penalty which leveled the match.

Get ready to cry when they meet Portugal.
Can't see why anyone would feel very intimidated by the version of Portugal that's shown up here. probably the weakest Quarterfinalist based on actual play in the tournament so far.

Yet they could have advanced with just one more successful penalty out of the first 5. I just can;t understand bringing a guy in with two minutes left to participate in a shootout after sitting the entire game and having not so much as touched a live game ball in forever!! I wounder if there's a statistic somewhere for the success rate of penalties taken by players with less than 5 minutes match time???

Anyway maybe it's because i didn't pay much attention to the pre-tournament build up or because i know little about this crop of players compared to past championships, but it seemed this Italian team had a luxury of entering the tournament with a refreshing lack of hype & expectations and without burdens of having to play around servicing this or that individual superstar and that absence of distraction seemed to help them get off to a great start without any of the usual drama. It's too bad they drew Germany, I suspect they would have gone to the championship gam had the draw worked out any other way.
