Jays get a bit of a break for tomorrow's game as Machado has dropped his appeal of his 4 game suspension and he'll start serving it tomorrow.

Why could the Jays not just wait the weekend? They were firing on all cylinders too. Missed watching the game, but was listening when bases were loaded, and Tulo went down on strikes.
Had a chance in the 9th with bases loaded and one out. Donaldson then hit into a double play to end the game. Even the best mess up.

Jays can win without Tulo, between Barney, Travis and Goins offensively they are producing (Barney-.300 hitter, Travis beginning to hit ball hard the other way which is his strength and Goins has been making solid contact lately ) they are also solid defensively at SS and 2nd.

Tulo is definitely fragile, he has only 2 seasons where he has appeared in 150 games or more.

You guys really need to lay off the Tulo crap. Typical Toronto fans. Nobody good enough for the sports experts here. Kessel sucks is the latest. Good to see him gone. Tulo's numbers when he is performing very poorly by his standards are not that different than his replacement's , yet everyone wants to dump him and play Ryan Goins. Toronto fans are the only ones in MLB who think Ryan Goins and Darwin Barney are better options to get you to the world series than Troy Tulowitzki. I guess that's why Toronto is there every year, they are a step ahead of the rest. I bet Shapiro is pretty scared when he sees the potential GM talent on TERB just waiting to take his job and run with it.

Only 3 of 11 years played more than 128 games.
Rockies just swallowed the last 2 years $40m on Reyes' contract. The talk on their blog is, "at least we're not stuck with Tulo's $100m" that's the Jays problem.

Tulo better get his act together, cuz the Jays are looking at anchor in their payroll that could handcuff the team until 2020.

Jays are on a pretty good run without Tulo and he has never hit well since coming here. There may well be a "real" Tulo waiting in the wings, I guess. The issue is whether we want to pay his immense contract while waiting for him to be our new superstar.... sometime.

I think the mistake was playing Tulo yesterday and batting him 6th. Why not bat him ninth with a little bit less pressure - almost like a spring training game - but yesterday Thole is in the line up, so Martin isn't. So wait until today and bat him ninth - once he starts being Tulo, move him up - like Tuesday against Arizona.

I'm starting to wonder if Stro is just going through sophomore jinx, or that he's overrated and was never that good to begin with

He is good. But something is up with his mechanics. He still has an excellent ground ball ratio which is his wheelhouse.

I wonder if he needs a stint in the bullpen soon. I think if has two more starts like this they will have to do something.

He is not as bad as he has looked lately...but he is not as good as many thought he was......he is a starting pitcher but not an ace......

Well let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've gone 7-1 scoring a bunch of runs against a couple of weak pitching staffs in Phil and Baltimore.

We also got shutout by a no name rookie. And before that Detroit shut down our batters. So let's keep it in perspective. .
Gallardo had our number last year, and Tillman is likely an All-star this year.
I don't know why the Jays even bother playing when I predict all the outcomes. ?

Not to mention that I predicted Edwin would take over the RBI from Ortiz when he was 8 back.

Sometimes it's hard being great haha. :)

Sanchez might be saved from going to the bullpen by his buddy Stroman if he keeps pitching like shit.

In Stromans last 7 starts, his ERA is 7.59 and WHIP is 1.80.

Checking Tulo's career home and away splits for OPS:
Home: 930
Away: 810

So like most Rockies batters, they had big numbers in the Mile High city and lower away.
An overall OPS of 870 is pretty awesome for a SS and a potential HOF if he played enough full seasons.
But since we dont play in Denver, we basically got a 810 OPS injury prone SS for $20m for the next 5 years.

I like Tulo. He has some pop in his bat, but if they wanted to move him I would not protest if the put the money right back into the pay roll in the form of a 1 or 2 starter.

I hear that the Jays are going to make Ricky Romero a special coach for Stroman to bring him back to top form.

Stroman is just too short to be an elite pitcher. Are there any elite pitcher who are his height? Yes, height matters.
