It could be a way forward. The devil is in the details as usual.
True, and with 50 years of violence neither side trust each other at all.
Still, the polls show that its only the very old who still support the two state solution, both there, here and on this board.

A workable solution will most likely involve 2 entities, assuming a breakthrough over the right of return issue. Personally I doubt the Palestinian diaspora would even return to the West Bank or Gaza, unless pushed or forced to, anymore than the Armenian diaspora would choose to go live in Armenia.

One detail that matters is whether millions of hostile Palestinians would flood into Israel and then vote to abolish the Jewish state and replace it with an Islamic one.

The other detail is whether Hamas would be disarmed.

Why would they be hostile? Would be an upgrade from refugee camps.

The Palestinians have been trying to destroy Israel since they started the 1947 civil war, rejecting partition. They're hostile. It's not a matter of would be, is a matter of have been, for the last seventy years. A sizeable fraction want an Islamic state, purged of Jews and/or with only a token, subservient Jewish population.

I wonder at the ludicrousness of your question and whether you actually want to be taken seriously.

You mean back to the two state solution?

What Franky and notti keep ignoring is that the Palestinian people (and Israeli people) are overwhelmingly opposed to an egalitarian One State Peace. The most recent Palestinian polling from April has 70% opposed and that number has been fairly consistent during the last decade.

I would foresee after a generation or two after a Two State peace the two sides will have growing economic cooperation as Israel and Jordan are doing but it will take time.

I'm with fuji on this one, do you really even have to ask this question? It would be ethnic suicide of Jews.

What I meant was 2 political entities, whether they'd be called states or provinces or cantons remains to be sorted out.
A one state solution is ideal, but won't happen anytime soon, at least not in this generation and not before the surrounding neighborhood itself is stable imo.

If it involves millions of Palestinians flooding into Israeli territory to eliminate the Jewish majority and turn it ultimately into an Islamic State --

Won't happen.
It won't unless people decide to stop listening to fear mongers like you and Netahyahoooo. The fact is, one state or eventual oblivion, that is the choice Israel has. It is the choice they have ALWAYS faced and never made the right decision. Integration or oblivion.

I think the single homeland federal solution is a good one with closer ties over the next 100 years or so.
