Sotto Sotto isn't a steakhouse, speciality is Italian dishes but man, their filet mignon is the bomb dot com.

Same with the French Sassafraz, if Yorkville is your thing. I cannot recommend the area enough for discretion.

Also, Nao's Steakhouse is pretty decent in a pan-Asian type of way.

Shout out to the Keg too.
You know your restaurants chloe! ! thanks

I would fly to Vancouver to eat steak. Nothing beats the Pacific Northwest.

Otherwise I like Jacobs. The booth by the staircase is fun for people watching and being loud. ( second floor )

Tom Jones located next to the King Edward Hotel is another nice steak house. Greek-family owned. Pretty good piano bar and you can sing along too.

Tom Jones, Ruth's Chris, Black Angus and Barberians are all great choices. I would add Harbour 60 to the list.

I never liked Morton's. You get a Keg quality steak at a Barberians price. Just go to Keg and save some money in that case. At Keg you get a good steak for the money you pay. The list above though are all better.

I've pretty well eaten at every steak house in the city. Here are my top 3

1. Barberians. 7 Elm Street. Great beef. Great seasoning. Lots of choices. Cooked to perfection. Extensive wine list. Been around for over 50 years. Can't miss.
2. Bardi's. 56 York Street. A bit pricey and not as much selection as Barberians but delicious beef cooked immaculately. Has New York style steakhouse feel. Great wine list. Service is top notch.
3. Black Angus. 3277 Bloor St W. Can you really go wrong when they serve you your steak on a wooden plank. So old school. I think the chefs can cook a steak in their sleep they've been doing it for so long. I like the cozy feel of the place.

Morton's gets an honourable mention for me because they present their menu on a cart and their creamed spinach is to die for. But I just find the quality of the steak a slight notch below the top 3. Great little bar in their though. And the eye candy ain't too bad.

I think Tim Horton's are pushing their steak sandwich.

Morton's

Morton's is actually one of my favourite places to go with clients.

It's kind of discreet, if you know where to sit and extremely underrated in my opinion. They really know their stuff, wine and food and really do go through all the details, sometimes with cute stories.

Jacob's is another obvious favourite. Harbour Sixty, if you don't mind exposure and always Barberian's.
I have been to Morton's. Twice once. For a dinner date with a not so superior meal

The salad lettuce had brown edges on it from being out to long and the steak I had to cut off the edges

And eat the middle part...........my dinner date did not eat her steak and sent it back

We got the whole meal credited. On our bill except for our 2 drinks

I wrote the head Morton's and got a complimentary dinner for 2

Second time around was better must have been a fluke

Second time around sat across the table from our former mayor and the store with who has

Better prices noooooooobody

Jacobs haven't tried it but it looks spectacular

When you go to Jacob's, try a Wagyu steak. Snake River's are my favourite. Thank me later.

Recommendation from the concierge queen is respected and will try thank you
This steak is on my list (i'm a nerd and I researched the yelp reviews). I've been to Ruth's Chris many times, and it's nice as well, BUT I really don't like their 70's-esque outdated, overpriced and underwhelming side dishes for the steaks. Especially the asparagus, the worst i've ever had at a restaurant, giant, tough and inedible.
Guys, it's so pretty, I almost want to frame it. Lol.

OMG and the bread muffins or whatever those things are that they give you when you leave. Omg. :)

Date night soon?

I usually go with a 6 or 8oz tenderloin or the 8/16oz striploin, depending on how hungry I am. The tenderloin comes out looking seriously small, but it's really, really filling so don't be fooled by the size, if you ever get it. 6oz sometimes is just fine, especially if you have a few glasses of wine and an appetizer beforehand.

Getting them to make the salad in front of you is always a nice touch, but I guarantee you after that, you'll be feeling pretty satisfied so I wouldn't recommend getting any larger than 8oz for most small stomachs, unless you want to doggy bag it.

Personally for wine, I can be really indifferent. I prefer a lighter white but it's almost like a disservice with that steak, so I'll get a random Pinot or Merlot and chill with that.

I make the best steak in town. Only the best cuts, Beef tenderloin, Striploin and T-bone. Steak is easy to make and cheaper.
