Can I come?!?!
We can go to Ruth's Chris if you are craving a nice hot beef injection But if you want to finish with a nice cream pie, we will have to head over to the Canyon Creek near the peeler joint. They are the experts when it comes to peeling bananas, the right way. Hands down.

For cook your own, I give a big thumbs up to the T-Bone steaks at Marhaba Supermarket, 324 Parliament Street, on the west side, just north of Dundas Street West. The phone number is (416) 923-2933.

For starters, you won't find a better price, ($6 a pound). It's very tasty Halal meat; the store is staffed by friendly devout Muslims from Bangladesh. The store closes briefly for Muslim prayer times around noon, late afternoon, and just after sunset.

I bought five thick T-bones for under $25. They cut them while I waited, from a well aged slab of beef. Many supermarkets don't have T-bones, and when they do, they tend to be paper thin, grayish in colour, and overpriced. Not these ones. This is the first time I've bought steaks there, but I'll be back, and often.

One thing that's really strange about the store is that there's no fixed price for vegetables. If you want to buy something like potatoes, the guy at the cash asks you how much you want to pay.

.... went to blueblood last summer for the first time and it was quite the great experience. The food was amazing. Table side gourmet Caesar salad creation, octopus, lobster mac & cheese, a 14 oz Ontario farm strip with scallops.....and then me saying “oh some gourmet chefs style to cook a steak is searing it in a pan?”

$1000 plus for 4 of us (with a few drinks each wine/beer).... probably the most expensive meal I’ve ever had lol.

Toronto - Blueblood

Old Montreal - Gibbys

England Seven dials London and Manchester - Hawksmoor both locations rock. You buy your steak by the ounce. I can’t wait to get back there.

Now with the lockdowns, especially Toronto with extended restaurant done in closures, many a back yard bbq chef has honed their skills to a level which will give the Steak Houses some major competition when the restaurant open back up in terms of taste, price and convenience.

This is true. I think I've mastered my butter-basted steak with garlic and thyme in a cast-iron pan. Now getting excited for bbq season to practice doing perfect grill marks. :)

With 72 locations worldwide, Morton's may not be the most unique steakhouse experience. However, there is a reason it has been dubbed the Rolls Royce of Steakhouses. The decor in Mortons is sleek and masculine. Located in Toronto's chic Yorkville neighbourhood, the white linen tablecloths inspire a classic fine dining experience. The staff will go through the details of each cut of meat if you are a steak neophyte. Even though the steak may be the highlight, appetizers such as lobster bisque and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella come highly recommended. The USDA prime aged beef is outstanding, and deliciously juicy. That white tablecloth may not stay immaculate for long, but it will be worth every bite. (416-925-0648)
My favorite! Been to just about every one they have. I was sad when they dropped the one in Vancouver.

Weekends, I just walk to the St. Lawrence Market and roll the dice because there are too many butchers there. I should do some research and find out who the really good meat vendors are there. LOL

Not downtown, but I really love Kostas Meat Market a Greek butcher with a great selection and good prices.
