Whoever posted about this aircraft's tail strike several years ago may well be on the right track. More talk about that tonight on a number of news programs.
I'm not at home now but it seems like that plane isN'T getting much news on American networks?

How do we know for sure that ISIS has such missiles and that they did it?
We dont, its all just speculation.

But why was BA issued warning not to fly under 25,000 ft?? Those manpads can only reach 23, 000 ft max. So why issue warning for 25,000 ft?? Makes zero sense!

Probably allowing for a margin of error.

Do we really know the maximum stats of foreign weapons?

Since most foreign weapons are either US, Russian or Chinese made, I'd say yes we do.

But okay, it could just be margin of error. Its a very wide margin though. No way a stinger missile is gonnna go much higher than 10,000 ft

It's probably bigger than a stinger missile.

I doubt that we know the maximum capability of all enemy or foreign weapons, unless they've been around for years and used in previous combat.

If it was that big, i.e. bigger than a Stinger, would it not have shown up on radar?

I'm thinking a bomb (a la Air India) would be a lot cheaper and easier than a missile.

Either way, if it got hit with a missile, or a bomb, they'll know real quick.

That was me.
Metrojet plane’s tail to get a close look from investigators after news that it was damaged in 2001

The black box heard 'strange sounds' before the plane fell apart as well.

But to get to 31,000 feet we are talking of something like the Buk-M2 or Buk-M3 (SA-11 Gadfly) or MIM-104 Patriot missile systems: in other words large vehicle mounted missiles with radar tracking. You just aren't driving those sorts of systems around the Sinai without something being done about it.

Both British and U.S. Intelligence chiefs are publicly saying that they suspect a bomb.

The U.K. has banned all British Airlines from flying into Sharm el S_heikh Airport.

And the Egyptians are outraged about the "premature" allegations which will impact on the lucrative tourist trade to the area.

Are these the same Egyptians who when the tourist was killed by an oceanic whitetip shark at Sharm el S_heikh five years ago blamed Israel?
