Are the Toronto police fleeing in the face of the enemy?

this action is a punishment and a "lets have a look at your security plan". There should have been no way a gun got past metal detector and security screening.

also the police want to distance themselves from the huge amount of lawsuits that are headed the club's way as we speak.

Off duty jobs are the sweetest cherry in the TPS contract, it appears they were putting as much effort into the security detail at the club as they do standing at a construction zone. Nothing will happen, cops never get reprimanded, it will all just be swept under the rug. Disgusting

It is a shame when violent thugs initiate shootings and yet some people blame these tragedies on police that are not physically able to prevent every shooting in this city.

The same people that blame the police for not preventing this shooting are the same people that would have been screaming bloody murder had the cop interfered with the gunman and shot and killed him
Unfortunately the police are the blame for everything in this city.

I wonder who people like Jack Burton would be calling if someone broke into his home and threatened his family with a gun.
Obviously he cannot call the police because they are not there to protect him.

That's what I don't get and believe me I'm no cop apologist. But when you need help, who are you gonna call? (ghostbuster jokes here-> .....)
I get that cops can be on a power trip and all that crap, but when push comes to shove and help is needed, everyone calls them.

I've been forced to hire cops at certain events I've held. Trust me, they don't do jack shit. They earn hundreds of dollars a night doing nothing. I wholly believe the same happened at Muzik.

Not at all. My frustration stems from the ineffective and lazy TPS that couldn't even screen to club goers, even tho there was gunfire there at the exact same time last year. Plus they make $60/hr to essentially do nothing. In this case, less than nothing and some poor innocent girl is dead.

Playing devil's advocate here, but 4,000 people at an after hours event versus how many cops-for-hire? They can't honestly be at all places at every instance.

You would also have to lay some partial blame on the cabbies who said no to a potential $8 fare. A lot of variables went into her death unfortunately.

And no more carding because we "know" they are all innocent. Anyways, no witnesses have come forward (big surprise, eh). The 3 wounded said they saw nothing. Drake is still maintaining radio silence (another big surprise). Drake, why don't you just ask your fans to provide whatever info they can?

Drake would look soft if he did so (maybe he will, if there's pressure to cancel OVO fest), ironically enough, one of his singles "Never help 'em". You just can't make this stuff up, the timing is crazy.

Exactly my point. You are blaming the cops because the girl is dead and not the gunman. Blame the culture that supported this event if you do not want to blame the guy with the gun but don't blame the police.

Muzik also has dozens of paid security. Who were most likely doing all the work anyways.

Replace whatever cops with security and you could have added dozens of more guards. They literally could have posted one at every point of the perimeter and been a more active deterrent than the cops who would have been all bunched up at the front chatting about their pension.

The news reported several days ago that he had publicly asked attendees to come forward with information. Was that incorrect?

Can you elaborate on how carding would have prevented this?

Criminals are going to do what they want to do regardless of measures put in place. This girl was shot outside the club was she not? How would carding, more security inside or anything the club could have done affected what happened outside? Now if everything happened inside, I'd understand.

I'm not sure why cops are allowed to do off-duty police work. The service should be getting paid for that work. You know, to help pay officers' ridiculously high wages.
