Only rich Jews? Or can any rich person go there? Or any person on an expense account?
Seems to be a not so subtle racist undertone Titalian? Been there numerous times and there are all nationalities there partaking in the excellent choice of steak and lobster. For the record, Chan's draws wealthy patrons from all over the city as well as pro athletes and execs due to the excellent food and service. It is a unique old school place.
Their most expensive steak (16 oz. New York striploin) is $60... a 3 lb. lobster (a pig out!) varies but is only a few dollars more... that's about $250... 30% tax and tip is another $75... how did you get to $620? Did you have a +$250 bottle of wine?

I have made it very clear in prior posts that I am a great fan of this restaurant but, sorry, pal, for me it does not compute!

And your remark about rich Jews is a little under the belt and unlike anything of yours I have read before!

You are a reasonably intelligent, no b.s. poster... are you feeling OK? Are you feeling under the weather?

My apologies to all of you, My comment wasn't meant to be derogatory or racist. I am far from that. Just an ignorant over sight on my part, In fact some are very close friends of mine as well as loyal clients !

Sorry we were five people in total. I forgot my client had brought his daughter as well. This was awhile back so I only remembered the total amount and before tip it was about 520.00 with 4 cocktails and bottle of wine. Does that add up?

Well I'm glad I received so much feedback. I have not been in years but from what I do remember it was reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food.

Looks like they will re-open soon at their new location. Guess I'll wait a month and check it out.

Thanks, Franci

Yes... even so, you must have splurged but that is what great restaurants are for.

Just an ignorant over sight on my part...
Acceptable explanation to me... it happens to all of us from time to time... except, of course, for some here [not you!] for whom it happens all the time! :D

It isn't fancy but is the best steak and lobster house in the city. Same owners for zillions of years. Compared to Ruth Chris it is a bargain for the steak.

Yes I agree the food and service were awesome ! Just a little over my budget at the time.
