You should inform the Cy voters of this mistake of theirs as it is usually one of the, if not the, most important factors in their voting.

And don't forget the tremendous job Pete Walker (in spite of his lousy playing career:eyebrows
has done in having the starters pitch so much better the last couple of weeks. I watched that game last year in almost disbelieve. I didn't get to watch last night's live as I was working. I did watch it as "jays game in 30 minutes" at like 2 am, and realized rob faulds was calling the game which made me want to slit my throat, and that was the half hour version. I wouldn't have been able to watch the whole thing with him calling the game.

In baseball, the manager will always get to much credit when they win, and to much scrutiny when they loose. Baseball more than any other sport, the manager has least impact on the outcome of the game.

By the way BBL. They say a manager has a direct effect on 8--10 games per year. That may seem small but it generally is the difference in making the playoffs.

I played poker last night. When I got there about 7:45 I said to put on the game. The guys said they turned it off because they were down 5-0 in the first.
Keeping in mind they were playing at the Fenway joke of a park against a team with a pitching coach as a manager yet with horrible pitching, I persisted. I was less of a believer at 8-1 down. I didn't pay much attention 'til I saw a couple of men on in the 7th, none out and now down 8-4. I dropped out of the hand and went to watch closer. Holy fucking shit. 9 runs in and no outs. We paused the poker game.
Anybody know what the MLB record would be for runs scored in an inning before an out is registered? I can't imagine it can be much higher, at least not since post WWII.

Most knowledgeable people in the game will tell you otherwise... managers in baseball are hugely responsible for what is going on between the ears of their players and baseball is one game in which what is happening between the ears is terribly influential on performance.
