Gibbons falls asleep again. Texeira is better as left handed batter and has seen Estrada twice in the game. Lefty Francis is ready - McCann on deck. Veteran Tex knows tired pitcher is going to give him fastball first pitch. Sigh...

Estrada knocked out in the 5th. by a Teixeira bomb to certrefield . He gave up 29 last year, so Good Luck pitching at Rogers Centre.
The good - well, make that "not too awful" - parts. Aside from Estrada, pitching wasn't too bad at all. Martin is now hitting up a storm, although Donaldson has cooled off and EE is still struggling. Colabello got two hits and an RBI in his first game up.

Leaving aside the NYY surge, the remainder of the division is bunched within 1.5 games. And I still don't believe NYY is going to make a serious run this year.

The Jays have an embarrassment of riches in the hitting department. New call up Chris Colabello has strong minor league stats as a power hitter. Maybe they can make a trade for more pitching.

I was at the game tonight. Does anybody know why Buerhle was pulled after 5 innings? His pitch count was not bad, and he is supposed to go at least 6. Cant complain though, Osuna was excellent again.

Well the compromise would have been to send him out to start the sixth and give him a quick hook if he got into trouble. By the way, LFH - you are beautiful.

I'd have to think it was based off his horrific past against the Yankees. Why flirt with 'one of those innings', have the wheels fall off and blow a well pitched 5 innings?
Had Gibby left him in, and things gone bad, fans would be screaming.

As it turns out, Buerhle is pulled with no damage done, and looks great. Osuna needed the work, and the Jays get an important win.

Hindsight to be sure... but it nice when it goes good.
Buehrle is having back issues (amongst other ailments),
and has struggled in recent outings.
He put in 5 solid innings, let him leave on a high note.

Agreed. For what it's worth that's what the guys on BBB were saying last night.

So far so good from Sanchez. He's still walking a lot but I think thats just nerves and as he matures the walks will become less and less

nice win last night. Sanchez 2 hits over 7+, if he doesn't come out for the 8th 1 hit. nice job by Loup, kept it scoreless and Delabar 1 2 3 in the ninth. Defense was excellent and offence was fine. Would love to be able to write this after every game.:frusty:
