Awesome, another loss so the death march continues.
As for the lottery.....A lot of us have been locked into McDavid, Eichel & Strome all season, but I'm really liking Marner these days. Initially, I wrote him off because after drafting Nylander, you wouldn't expect them to pick another small skilled winger. But, you can't ignore his stats (126 pts, 63 games) and the Patrick Kane comparisons. Word is the Leafs are high on him, Strome & Barzal.
The Nashville pick is currently 24th overall which ain't too bad in a deep draft year.

Finally the decades of gross mismanagement is beginning to show, Leafs attendance is dropping. The changing demographics of the city are finally making themselves felt (another reason why MLSE should think long and hard before moving the Argos into BMO). Perhaps the fans can be placated with a Richard Peddie Night.
I hope that history doesn't repeat itself. If Nonis isn't Shany's GM, then whomever replaces him better not be continuously overruled. I can't blame JFJ for the rot that befell the Leafs, Peddie was all over him like a peel on an orange. Left to his own conclusions JFJ would not have traded Tukka Rask.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I think Shanahan may know more about hockey than Peddie.
Shoot, will the Leafs go the way of Toronto SC's? I noticed that Leaf fans are older and Raptor fans are younger. Are the Leafs losing the younger generation?
P.S. The Leafs might not win another game the rest of the season. Would this season be the worst W-L record in Leaf history?
That's a foregone conclusion SkyRider, the younger generation doesn't care. The Raptors have been street smart; the Leafs have been patrician, greedy, arrogant and incompetent. Declining attendance is what they richly deserve maybe then The Ballard Model will finally be canned.

Question:
Is there any possibility that Nathan Horton could ever play again. I have my doubts since he left it all on the ice for the Bruins. But he's just the sort of character player that the Leafs desperately need.

Can't see him playing again and risking permanent injury to his back. On another note, how difficult will it be to trade Kessel in the off season? His trade value has plummeted and getting a first round pick or a top prospect will be laughed at.
I compare Phil Kessel to a Dany Heatley. Look how quickly Dany lost it -- nhl gms will see a similar path for another immensely skilled sniper who is fat, out of shape, poor leader and no commitment to his team. Leafs will be lucky if they

If he is healthy he is worth his salary but don't think he will play ever again . I think at this point he is just shooting for enjoying everyday life without pain .
I looked at espn plus / minus leaders in NHL .. Then clicked it for reverse standings and it is Phil Kessel's line as top 3 minus leaders .. -37, -36 and -38 ..
You want to catch Sabres .. Play that line 25 mins a game
