There is a constitutional right for consenting, mentally competent adults to engage in sex. The exchange of money does not erase that right.

I think there maybe a brief crack down for show, assuming Police bother, and then it will be back to business, because MP and Escort liciencing too profitable for cities to pass up. And enforcement will usually be at the city level, so its the police chiefs and mayors, not Peter Mackay who will decide how much enforcement this recieves. I don't believe the Tories have offer much if any additional funds to LE to enforce it, so enforcement will have to come from other departments, so the police maybe make a show of it then move on. All threater and show, abit at the expense of real people. Hopefully John Tory will not he an idiot on this issue, but we will see.

I think your interpretation of that section is more aligned with Texas than Canada. We have a distinguished track record of trumping individual freedoms for the "good of the whole". We can thank the Liberals and NDP for that.

Remember that this Bill has only passed the House of Senate and now needs the Royal assent that is just a formality and won't happen till next month when the Old Bill expires. So this is probably the last month you can get away with it. Sob, sob.
It was the Tories that introduced Bill C-36, and the anti-cyber bullying bill that invades our rights as citizens. They are far from being innocent on this count. In fact, they are worse than the Liberals (federal, who brought us the Charter) and the NDP, especially with all the friction between them and the SCC.
It received royal assent on Nov 6th. It takes effect 30 days afterwards. So Dec 6th it's applicable.
I used that line once with a hot looking SP standing outside of a strip joint downtown (I can't say more here). She asked me the same question. Luckily, neither of us were.
So Saturday December 6 is definitely the date this new law comes into full effect? That's 100% for sure?

In my experience most date sensitive items related to governments don't occur on weekend/stat holiday dates, but are deferred to the first regular business date subsequent to the actual date (ie. think of personal income taxes nominally due on April 30, but if that happens to be a Saturday or Sunday, the due date becomes the Monday following.) On that basis I would expect the new law to be effective Monday December 8, but I can't say 100% for sure.
According to sources in the know, quoting a top civil servant....Peel Region will continue to act upon complaints and infractions only. As in, no aggressive pro-active interpretation of the new law. This is in line with what spa owners like MPA2 have been saying. While this is hearsay, sounds like it may not be the doom and gloom we are all expecting as far as enforcement is concerned. Fingers crossed!!
This scenario may end up as what is played out, but what happens when somebody higher up the food chain insists on action? Will the police chief just say "Sorry boss, not going to do it"? Not likely.
Everyone should continue EXCEPT for the guy that will get arrested. No one knows for sure, so unless there is a PUBLIC statement from LE, it would be wise to decide for yourself.
