This girl was not happy when I left, she was quick to realize the loss of work {money}I've asked 3 MP's so far, and none of them knew.
When I told them, the first thing they asked was "so the guys will get in trouble but the girls won't?" And then either a satisfying nod and smirk or "I kind of like that" followed.
Yes their initial reaction was happiness when they learned only the guys would get in trouble. Then when I explained the guys would be scared to come at all and the realization of hit them of their income loss, their smiles turned upside down.This girl was not happy when I left, she was quick to realize the loss of work {money}
Just got back from the MP. Asked the girl what she thought of the new laws coming .. She had no idea.
This is the second place in the last week I have been to and neither of the girls knew.
Some are going to be in for a big shock
Spa owners want everyone to think its business as usual. You think they'd have a staff meeting to explain it, but they don't want the girls to freak out and start informing the many customers who don't even know this bill is coming yet.I’ve mentioned the upcoming changes in legislation to three girls recently, none were aware. I would have thought it would be in their best interest to be informed.
Thank you for chiming in, and yes to your question, you can bet on it !!!Most if the girls where I work are at least somewhat aware, though that's largely because the few of us who found out on our own have had conversations about it- one of them was started by this sort of a situation, where one of the girls was told by her client who had been seeing her for years that he might not be back much after the law goes in. She came out of the room pretty confused but once we explained it to her she was pretty unhappy about it. Not only the loss of income, but she has a lot of regulars that she's known for years and she was genuinely upset at the thought that they would be targeted.
I know my spa's management hasn't said anything about it or if they have plans to change anything to be a harder target. I think most spas are doing the same with their employees.
I'm sure indie sps are the most aware as a group, since they seem most tied in to the discussion here and on other boards. I'd be interested in knowing if agencies are being as quiet with their girls as the spas are- I can imagine the spas trying to just continue on with minimal changes but the law seems like it would more directly affect how agencies operate.
I think this is right on. Indie SPs are the SPs most directly affected by this, in the sense that they are sole proprietors responsible for their business. In the same way that agencies and spas will need to think about how this affects their incall, advertising, communication, etc., indies need to think of all these things as well. In my experience, many of the SPs who work at agencies, etc., do so because they don't want to deal with all of the business end of things & aren't as well informed about laws, etc., because they aren't required to be. It's similar to the difference between being an employee and a business owner because, well, that's pretty much what the deal is. In my experience, there isn't a lot of communication within an agency anyhow... no staff meetings or anything, just the business of getting calls & getting SPs to them. That said, I do know that some agencies are run differently and that certain agencies seem to represent women who are much more informed and involved in the politics of SP life...I'm sure indie sps are the most aware as a group, since they seem most tied in to the discussion here and on other boards. I'd be interested in knowing if agencies are being as quiet with their girls as the spas are- I can imagine the spas trying to just continue on with minimal changes but the law seems like it would more directly affect how agencies operate.
So then, what's their plan !!!the term "spa owners / management" is as vague as the term "backpage girls" .... they are vast and varied, and they certainly don't all do business the same way.
Interestingly enough, I was just talking to a spa owner in the GTA, she's very involved and her staff are quite informed. I've also received letters on the Happy Hooker site from MPAs, spa owners, agency owners and employees. There are obviously ladies who are very aware.
I don't think it's fair to generalize this way.
Reason why I'm asking is, I was recently with an ex agency Lady and to tell the truth she hardly had a clue. With that said Inobody can plan for a law that hasn't been written yet. I've been saying this for months. Even lawyers can't give legal advice on how to deal with a law that hasn't been finalized yet. What the details of the law actually will be has not been determined.
The city is still selling licences for body rub attendants, dancers, etc ... and the spas and agencies are still hiring.
So if the escort business slows to a crawl and a lot of their customer base starts going to massage, won't the heat then turn onto the MP's with their booming and rapidly expanding business?As is understand the situation to be, at this time it is not against the law to buy o sell sex. It is against the law to communicate for the purpose of prostitution. If C-36 is implemented as proposed then it will be against the law to buy sex as it is in the Scandinavian countries. The people that saw escorts will stop seeing escorts for fear of being arrested. Massage places will be better off especially the places that do not offer full service. Massage will be legal, reverse body slide will be legal. Everyone will be cautious, activity will crawl to a snails pace, but massage will not be as effected as escort will. I think that the escort $$$s will shift to massage for a while, at least till things defined clearly. The safest way is to go to people and places that you know and they know you.
Good song, but the lyric I quoted (incorrectly at that) does not appear in Touch Me.
