In an attempt to lose weight, I have been reducing the amount of food I eat and I have been working out. But I was wondering if there is a weight loss product that will help me in my efforts. What weight loss product have you used that is really helpful? Dr. Oz was blasted by a Senate Committee hearing; the Committee denounced his recommended products as useless. So, what products work?

I hear eating less and exercising more is supposed to work quite well. Personally, I think it's just a fad and I'm going to stick with my program of cheesies and extended internet sessions.

Fen Fen used to work but is off the market, amphetamines will work.
Xenical prevents fat from being absorbed, but if you have something too fatty you will get diarrhea.
ECA stack may help you if you can find the ephedrine it may leave you jittery.
Its 70% food and the rest exercise. Want to lose weight faster cut your sugar carbs and starches.
If there was a product that really work , millions would be taking it...

So close and yet so far.
There is no magic pill or food, unfortunately. Eat healthier, make wiser choices, smaller portions, cut out desserts and snacks, and exercise. If you can stick to it, it works. Weight loss products are a waste of money.

Do the above and add 8 glasses of water a day minimum

I'll second the suggestion for drinking a lot of water. Also, I find that eating 38 grams+ of fibre/day is good at curbing my appetite.

Simple, stay away from any processed foods that incorporate fructose. Check the labels carefully, because it is in most of our processed food supply.

I've dropped about 40 pounds in slightly less than 3 years.

I still eat all the food I love, pizza, Chinese food, veal sandwiches etc. etc. on a regular basis. What I've done is consume (slightly) smaller quantities, stretch out the time between meals (I don't eat unless I'm really hungry), occasionally make better snack choices. I also like eating dinner late (after 9:00) so that I am less likely to have a midnight (or later) snack.

I know my approach is not recommended but I have achieved results over an extended period of time while continuing to indulge myself. It seems to fit my lifestyle and I can live with it as opposed to trying something which makes me feel like I am depriving myself and would likely quit after a period of time.

I have another 40 to lose and I don't mind if it takes another 3 years.

The one unchanging principle is that to lose weight, calories in must be less than calories out.

What ever your body weight is in pounds devided in half and then multiply it by 30.
The number you get from that equation is the amount of water in ML you need to drink each day plus if you have any caffeinated drinks you have to replace the same amount with water.
For example if you weigh 200lbs you devide it in half (100X30=3000ml) which equals to 3 litres.
Drinking that amount of water helps you with so many different things and very helpful to losing weight. Also eat a lot of food just not in one sitting but rather eat every 2 hours but rather in small portions. This helps you speed up your metabolism.
Just make sure you eat good food no junk food lots of vegetable and lots of protein and small portion of carbs but complex carbs and do not eat any carbs or fruits late in the day eat them early in the day or in the afternoon.

Try to avoid Bread, Pasta, Pizza, Cookies and Cakes.

Drink lots of water - 2 glasses when you wake up; one glass 30 minutes before each meal; one glass before bed.

Stop eating after 6 pm.

When going for second servings at buffets, wait 20-30 minutes before you go to buffet bar. It takes that long for your brain to register that you are full from first serving. Hopefully waiting will make you feel full so that you do not get 2nd serving or take less.

Juicing and working out.

Ditch the carbs, drink your vegetables, eat your fruits, more protein. Consider a paleo diet.

I lost a fuckton of weight this way.

Portion control. Eat at home (since you know what is in the food). Drink water. Avoid salt.

Oh yeah, drink water. Lots of it. Totally forget about this one. I carry a water bottle with me. A lot of times what you think is hunger is your body telling you its thirsty.

Another thing about eating, take it slow, it takes 20 minutes for your mind to tell your body you're full. A lot of us have forgotten about this fact, myself included.

So there you go probyn. I think it's pretty unanimous--eat better, eat less, drink plenty of water, and exercise. It's hard (that's what she said) but it's the only thing that works.

Yeah there is something called mindful eating where you concentrate on chewing your food for 45-60 seconds before swallowing it and the feeling of being full lasts longer if you eat this way. I lost 60pound three years ago by incorporating what everyone has been talking about but especially the water and walking and mindful eating. I had a nutritionist's plan and honestly it was more food than I could handle. If anyone wants to ever see it pm me.
