Well unless the first game goes into DOT you should be ok.

Flyers at NYR 7:00pm
Minny at Colorado 9:30pm
LA at SJ 10:00pm
Better get some fresh coffee beans. Can't wait for the Habs and Bruins. Anyone remember April 1971?

Enjoy the flashback.

First Period

1 - Montreal: Cournoyer (Béliveau) 3:32

Beliveau pokes the puck loose from Don Awrey (26) at side board, and Cournoyer pounces on it, eluding checker Sanderson (16), skating freely up to Johnston, outwaiting him and beating him high as he sprawls.

2-1 Boston

5-1 Boston

7 - Montreal: Richard (unassisted) 15:33

5-2 Boston

Third Period

8 - Montréal: Béliveau (Ferguson, Cournoyer) 2:58 PP

In a clockwise 360 degree circle, all five Canadiens on the powerplay move the puck from start to finish. The play originates at the right boards where Beliveau passes to Roberto, who backhands a pass cross ice to Lapointe (5) high inside the blueline. Lapointe fires a hard pass to Cournoyer (12) on the left side of the net. Cournoyer redirects the puck through the crease to a waiting Ferguson (22) who is checked by Dallas Smith (4). The Canadiens returned to Montreal two nights later and defeated the Bruins by a 3-1 score, but Boston evened the series at the Forum, winning 5-2 on Sunday April 11. It was now down to a best two of three, on Boston regained control of the series with a rousing 7-3 pounding of the Habs at the Garden. Not to be outdone, the Canadiens admistered a whipping of their own back at the Forum on April 15, dishevelling the Bruins with an 8-3 slaughter. With Dryden stymying the Bruins' attack and the Habs' forwards matching Boston goal for goal, the Habs did the unthinkable in Game 7, putting the leaguers leaders, setters of 14 new offensive records in 1971, to rest with a 4-2.

The hockey world was in shock, and Sports Illustrated dedicated a cover story to the series upset.

Alright now.....you've waited long enough.....let's go to the movies!

All 12 goals from Game 2 of the 1971 Quarter Final. The between clip commentary from the Bruins narrator is precious!

So ...

Rangers do it in the end. 2-1 final but Rangers seemed in control the whole time.

Colorado gained a lot of experience and should be better for it down the road. Did not see much of this game.

LA/SJ ... completes the ... comeback/choke.

WOW ! After the Sharks win in game four 4-3 in OT it has been all LA ... 6-3 ... 3-0(in SJ) ... 4-1 ... 5-1(in SJ) ...... a total of 18-5.
Another classic San Jose choke.

Second round

Boston vs Montreal ... the rivalry continues. Nothing more needs to be said ... the talking will be done on the ice. ... Bruins (in five)

NYR vs Pittsburgh ... do the Rangers have an answer to Crosby and Malkin ? If the Pens show up / really want it, it will be tough for NY to win this one. ... Pens (in six)

Chicago vs Minny ... have these teams ever met in the playoffs before ? ... lol .. last year(had to look it up). A 4-1 win for the Hawks, so they do have playoff history. ... Hawks (in six)

Ducks vs LA ... this one should be a great series. Talk about two teams that do not like each other. ... Ducks (in six)
Obviously they do not have the Bruins/Montreal history but they are just as intense.

The Boston/Montreal on Saturday is at 12:30 because Northeastern University has graduation happening Friday and Saturday at the Garden this weekend.

Considering the time of year TDG should have told the U that the Bruins will be in the playoffs, you need to give secondary dates.

Also considering how hockey is viewed in general in the US the NHL just needed to be the 'bigger person' and go on a different night.
That said I doubt it bothers the average Bruin (US hockey)fan as much as it bothers us(Canadian fans) and the CBC so it is another way to stick it to us.

Bruins lose, penalties do them in.
Yes and it seemed the Bruins were off their game almost from the drop of the puck.
To me it looked as though they did not know what they wanted to do.

So what are you saying Rask will give up four next game ? :D

I saw Lucic miss the puck with an open net staring him in the face, maybe they need to put a pair of balls on the puck then he likely would have stuck it in for the win. :thumb:

... or he could run Price first then put puck in net.

Is there a graduation as well on Saturday. I thought it was only Friday, but I certainly could be wrong.

I expected this decision had something to do with NBC.
- NBC does not want to put hockey on at nights on their main network.
- The Kentcuky Derby is Saturday, so the hockey game had to be played earlier.

I don't fully agree. They dominated, but just lacked any finishing touch.

Perhaps they out-thought themselves on what they would do to beat Price once they got in scoring position. Krug delaying a shot in the low slot and trying to deke was ridiculous execution.

I think if Boston continues to play like it did last night it will win in 6 or less games. Montreal was up 2-0 after two, but it was more a case of being opportunistic. I do expect Montreal as a team to play a little better in some of the next games.

What The FUCK !

I decided yes this one is over ... Montreal is going to win. Price, Subban et al are in the Bruins heads. I go into the bathroom to shave and shower, wife says just after I shave 'you better come out here before you shower'.
Just in time to see 'Sic Balls' Lucic put puck into empty net ... WTF !

Boston has outplayed Montreal and the series is still 1-1. It should be 2-0 but rask has been totally useless.
Not sure which games you have been watching but Rask has been solid. Several of the goals on him were screens and deflections. But I do agree it should be 2-0 at this point based on the team's play.
Boston is that kind of team...they need to be "awoken" before things start to click. Remember, they lost the 1st game to Detroit last round as well, then won 4 straight. They almost lost to the Leafs last year and then went on a rampage after that all the way to the final.
The Bruins need some improvement on their powerplay (same as lat year). Considering the depth, they should dominate on the PP.
I have faith in the Bruins. They wear their opponents down as the series progress. Montreal is speedy, but small. They will be ground to a pulp over the next few games.
