Here is an advice I give you: When you don't click (say after 10 minutes you know that), you stop the session, apologize to the client and give him his money back. The cost to you? 10 minutes massage. The cost to him? the time to travel to you and then back. This way, the hobbyist will not feel robbed, will give an honest review about how fair you were, and other hobbyists will come see you knowing that you will give them their money back if you don't click with them A win-win situation.Like anyone, I click with certain people and not with others and am not always 100%. Like anyone, if u are nice and respectful, I will work hard to make sure you are getting your money's worth.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to have a crappy session where I waste my money AND my time. At least if I can waste only my time I would be happy. She does not have to say "look I don't click with you, so get the f-ck out'. She will probably say "look I am not feeling well and if I continue you will have a lousy session, so don't worry I will fully re-fund you". He will understand that trust me and will not go back, but he will be grateful that she didn't take his money for a crappy session. Back to Terb he will write things the way they were and I personally (and others) will visit her for sure knowing that there is minimum risk with her. For now, I will not visit.I don't agree with this advice. On the contrary, I'd say any clients that would be kicked out in this manner would be complaining loudly afterwards! Besides how many clients would you so not click with that you'd want to throw them out? Sometimes just going through with the session till the end and then deciding not to see them again is the best option: both the client and provider will likely feel the same in this case without even saying anything.
I agree. I've had many a crappy session with MAs at spas. I talked with the spa owners & they offered some compensation to make it right. In all cases, those MAs didn't last long.I don't know about you, but I don't want to have a crappy session where I waste my money AND my time. At least if I can waste only my time I would be happy. If the spa offered a 100% refund I would agree with you...but they don't...they offer some discount next time you visit, maybe 10$ or 20$ off the door fee next time, which is less than 10% of your total bill for the crappy session. I think is is a bit much to expect an Indy MA to charge 0 for her time. It is not just 10 minutes of her time, but opportunity cost, getting ready for the session, saying no I am busy to other prospective clients, etc. It's a bit like going to a restaurant and expecting not to pay because you did not like the food.they offered some compensation to make it right.

I completely agree a crappy session is a lose-lose, the customer is not happy and the provider gets shallaqued on boards such as this, I see 3 possible outcomes to mitigate:0
You have to take into consideration that the client has already incurred the cost of getting there (plus parking) and the cost of returning back home (work) AND the cost of the blue balls. All in all, it's the client who is loosing more than the free 10 minutes crappy massage and the potential opportunity cost to the MA (which is very small for an MA with a bas rep).
I have to agree somewhat with whiteman on this point. Once the massage has started you are pretty much committed regardless of how well the session turns out.If the MA provides an HJ, no matter how bad you might think it is, I think there's no way anyone can claim that she didn't provide the services you wanted. Just chalk it upto a bad session, much like a bad restaurant will still provide you with food.
I have to agree with the first part about the MA's not lasting long. I think ones that last either find a way to click with almost everyone or at least show that they are making an effort. If a pattern of reviews of people who don’t click emerges, it is usually pretty easy to see why. The ones that are looking to make a quick buck and treat their clients like a cash machine(rushed sessions, upcharges) don't generally tend to last.I agree. I think indy's should consider the same policy if they want to last. If a session isn't clicking, just call it a day & offer compensation. No harm, no foul IMO. In fact, I would appreciate the gesture so I don't waste my time. If the indy MA finds they have to cancel a lot of full sessions, perhaps they should consider another line of work.
Since I am one of the negative reviewers and I think it may be my comment you were responding to. Can you please expand on what you think a demanding and expectant attitude is? I think most people here have certain expectations and likes when getting service from an MA. I see nothing wrong in expressing those expectations. I don't feel it is disrespectful to ask for something specific nor is it abuse. If is is not something that you do a, simply explaining that is fine. I am pretty sure that I did not ask for anything I would not ask from any other MA (Specifically I did not ask for SP services such as a BJ or Full Service). Keep in mind, if you are restrictive or distant it will likely be noted on this board as has been the case throughout this thread.Hi,
Its The girl in question. I have been having a great run at this generally. I am sorry u were not happy. Come on back for a discount session perhaps? I have to admit there was one guy (perhaps you?) who was very demanding and expectant. That attitude of yours precipitates bad service. I am here to help you and to have a good experience also. Further, anyone vicious enough to want to put me out of business after abusing me in the session I feel sorry for. It is misguided at best. It makes me want to cry for you that you would want to ruin me. Please contact me-let's give it another try. Or come get your money back and remove this post. I'm sorry no one reigned in your appetite for revenge. No matter how bad feel service is I chalk it up to the person having a bad day and give my head a shake. Isn't going after my livelihood a bit much? The lack of compassion and restraint is truly heartbreaking.
Obviously everyone works to get paid...I would not rudely remind someone of this unless they were demanding more than is reasonable and rude and disrespectful-you provoked me.
In the future I am going to ask my regulars to add some good reviews to counter this vitriol. So stay tuned!
Thanku,
Laini
