Hey Jennifer, Tory is taking a page or two from the Ford 'play-mayor' handbook by making fanciful claims and promises that he can actually come through on the DRL when all evidence points to the opposite. His pledge of low taxes and a DRL thrown in for good measure', simply does not compute at all and crosses firmly into the Fordinian land of fairytales.

He is also firmly entrenched into the faux, fiscal conservative camp of wasteful spending and vote-pandering with his support of the Scarborugh STUPID TRAIN.

There are just two candidates who are speaking 'truth' to Torontonians regarding the wasteful WASTE TRAIN and the cost to Torontonians of 'actually' building a DRL and not just pandering to voters with false claims that the DRL will be free and beautiful as butterflies and not sting like a bee.

Here's how you cancel the WASTE TRAIN:

1) Revisit the council decision regarding the WASTE TRAIN under the next council.
2) With a firm mandate from a now informed public cancel the damned thing.
3) Stop the tax levy for it....
4) The province will now have to go it alone for the 2 stations if they still want it or they will reinstitute the previously approved above ground, right-of-way LRT.
5) Burn that m*therfucker down to the ground.

What do you want here anyway? Fanciful promises amounting to nothing or 'truth'. The former is what you'll get with Ford and the Ford-lite twins.

You can be for tax cuts or tax freezes

OR

You can be for subways.

You just cannot be for both or you are a fraud.

Just a guess there are far more men than women voting on terb which accounts for a lot of the testosterone driven conservative results.

John Tory does talk about new "revenue tool".
Ah the new 'revenue tools' are just code for that dreaded TAX AND SPEND, TAX AND SPEND label that faux, fiscal conservatives like to label others with.

GRAVY.

Depending on how much it is, I'd be more than willing to pay extra for a DRL. That shit would fix a whole whack of transit issues.

Well going it alone on the DRL, which is a given now with the current provincial environment, will cost anywhere between $10,000-12,000 for the average Toronto taxpayer over a 30 year period.

Some taxpayers will find this acceptable however many will not.

The problem here is that Ford and Stintz claim it will be 'free' and Tory claims he can do both 'low taxes' and DRL all at the same time.

What, are they some kind of effin magicians?

The question should never be should the 99% pay more tax to get more services.

The question from now on must be how much do we tax the top 1% to get the services the 99% needs.

No, just your typical "Fill your ass with smoke" politicians..

I still like Tory. Out of the lot he seems to be the most level headed guy (aside from Soknacki who unfortunately doesn't seem to stand a chance).

With all due respect.. You sound like a quack and do nothing for the left wing argument.

I totally agree with you... The subway vs lrt thing is the biggest issue for me any anyone who supports the subway is anything but fiscal responsible.

I only would vote for Tory if Chow had no chance. .. i doubt it will come down to that but it is too early to be completely sure.

At the end of the day the mayor is just one vote on council.

It won't be enough.

If you really want to pay for such things through higher taxes, you should be arguing higher taxes for the majority of voters. Otherwise, it's no different than claims that you'll pay for transit by finding efficiencies.

A date to notch onto your calendar:

April 17 at the Congress Centre is the official campaign launch for Ford.

Come one, come all and watch as ......

.....Robbie is arrested and prep walked off the podium by the TPS as soon as he walks up to the microphone to flap his gums.

I get around.
I am starting to hate the importance of the DRL vs subway conflict in this election.
There already was a huge region-wide plan to improve transit, that city council blew up.
That 8 km Scarborough line is a tiny little fraction of the city's overall transpo situation, and the attention it is getting is way out of proportion compared to the number of people who will use it.

There are so many other issues that need to be addressed - and are not.
