Another shooting in Fla

I've never chimed in on other threads regarding shootings in the US, but for some reason this just really disturbs me. Maybe this story is the story that broke the camels back for me, maybe because it just such an over-reaction from the shooter. In other shooting cases, with the exception of Zimmerman, there is some sort of mental cause/excuse.

It makes good cops look bad. Even if he did feel threaten, apparently he did leave but came back. It's such a trivial matter, and the suspect being a former cop should definitely have reacted better. At least he wasn't granted bail.

Another shooting in Fla yesterday? There was probably another shooting in every state yesterday and probably again today and probably again tomorrow.

They are nuts down there.

If you're in the movies, and the chap in front is texting, that can drive you insane. I never take my hand gun to the movies, in case I get tempted to shoot the texter myself.

See how all the interviewed bystanders side with the texter and blame the shooter -- blatant biased reporting.

If the person had not texted or just put his cell phone away this would be a non incident.

This is like texting and driving both bad combinations.

Aardvark, sorry about the double thread. I looked back to see if anyone else had posted it but obviously I missed it.

CWipes, the texting had occurred before the start of the movie. If it was really bothersome, go get management not a gun.

Buttercup, of course people are going to side with the texter. How is texting worth a death sentence.

He brought the gun with him; presumable as a retired cop, he carries it legally To be safe. And maybe help out the forces of order if need be. And if was the texter who had the carry permit, and didn't like being told to do his bothersome business out in the lobby? If it was an candybar attendant or some kid with the manager's title that day who got shot that would be part of the job?

What all these stories have to say is that the US is a lawless and dangerous place because of the unprincipled willful owners of dangerous weapons who take them anywhere and use them anytime according to their own whims. With more personal weaponry at large than any other place in the world and consequently more crime, incarceration and death involving weapons than any comparable country, the evidence is in and it is clear.

Only thing worth discussing is when and how to fix it. And beware anyone who tells you more guns is how.
