We don't have that much time to turn things around. "Our children" will have to deal with the repercussions of the current inaction that is currently taking place. Waiting and just talking will do nothing and its also the biggest failing of the so-called "left" in the industrialized world. As pressing as it sounds these talks of climate change carry
little significance. All of us, and that include those who believe
or not as well as the climate change researchers, will continue
to burn fossil fuels like there is no tomorrow regardless. The
only one pragmatic advice we can pass on to our kids to stop global
warming is to encourage them to burn away the remaining oil,
and coal as quick as they can so their generation can eventually
live on a balanced carbon dioxide budget.
The catholic school thing can be resolved with a name change. Catholic schools are barely catholic anymore. It's going to take about as long to turn things around as it will to get rid of catholic schools in Ontario in the meantime I'm off to put another log on the fire. It's friggin freezing out
I laugh at such simplistic comments when in a particular season, an extreme temperature hits. ie: -28C with windshield tonight. Its going down to -28 Celsius tonight with windshield factor:
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/ontario/toronto
Must be caused by all that global warming
The data is there, if you trust the meteorologists to measure your daily temps with the same units why wouldn't you believe the same data recorded over just longer periods of time.I laugh at such simplistic comments when in a particular season, an extreme temperature hits. ie: -28C with windshield tonight.
Now how about those balmy winter days and nights we had last year and the year before? No comments then I suppose?
Or how about those really cold nights in the summer? Nothing you say? Shocking and incredibly simplistic.

Sounds like you can't handle the truthInfamous Climategate quote:
"We can't account for the lack of warming at the moment, and it's a travesty that we can't."
No offense or anything, but you're an utter and total moron if you still believe in global warming after going through some of the Climategate emails.Sounds like you can't handle the truth
So they faked the moon landing, 9/11 was an inside job, and Obama was born a Muslim in Kenya? No offense or anything, but you're an utter and total moron if you still believe in global warming after going through some of the Climategate emails.
While I do believe there's some warming going, its probably minuscule. Something to the effect of .005 degrees per decade
False equivalenceSo they faked the moon landing, 9/11 was an inside job, and Obama was born a Muslim in Kenya?
I can tell :biggrin1:No I have not read the emails
Except that in 1999, NOAA's (via NASA) published record shows that 1998 wasn't a record.Oh, btw:
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...al-warming-science-environment-united-states/
In case you have trouble reading or comprehending: "Temperatures across the continental United States soared in 2012 to an all-time high, making last year the warmest year on record for the country by a wide margin, scientists say. '2012 marks the warmest year on record for the contiguous U.S., with the year consisting of a record warm spring, the second warmest summer, the fourth warmest winter, and a warmer than average autumn,' Jake Crouch, a climate scientist at the National Climatic Data Center at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), said in a press conference Tuesday."
No accelerated warming? Huh.
According to a new NOAA report, the average temperature for the lower 48 states in 2012 was 55.3 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius), which is higher than the previous 1998 record by one degree Fahrenheit (0.6 degree Celsius).
Don't sail your ship over the horizon, Phil. Its going down to -28 Celsius tonight with windshield factor: . . .
