Talk about sugar coated bullshit.

There is WAY more at play in this story and the G&M doesn't even touch on it.

Smitherman is a well known bully if not downright abusive. I know people that did work for him under the famous e-health debacle. From what I was told, Smitherman's style of management was to yell and scream and belittle people. (Probably stemming from the fact that the guy is a grade 9 drop-out and anyone with any education, or ability intimidates the hell out of him (Smitherman)).

My guess is that the hubby just got sick and tired of the emotional abuse and life wasn't as rosy as he thought it was going to be, so he just simply wanted a time out.

If that is true, why wouldn't he tell George so as not to get the police involved? For that matter, why wouldn't he contact police and say "Hey I'm OK. I see you're looking for me. I just want a time-out and I am fine." And why would he leave his kids without telling them what he is doing? Any good parent would not just dash-out on kids like that to leave them worried sick.
