A former police officer who worked the drug squad in the time period that Doug Ford is accused of being one just came on the radio show. He specifically worked in the neoghbourhood. He has stated that the Ford name NEVER came up as part of any investigation. EVER.

So who do you believe....unnamed sources or Named police officers who specifically worked the drug beat?

That's not a real surprise.....
If you dealt marijuana and hash and had some street smarts and didn't run into any bad luck you probably could deal for the rest of your life and not get caught....
It also helps that they were rich white kids living in Etobicoke....
Toronto cops don't target that demographic....

A) They have some kind of vested interest or B) They've been yapping so much previously that they've developed positions so entrenched that they'd do anything to avoid embarrassment.

Doug Ford was no Scarface or Pable Escobar but he picked enough to supply Hash to the surrounding High Schools in his area...

He wasn't just some guy who just picked up so he could pay of his personal smoke....
He probably picked up a pound or two of hash at a time and dealt it up in half-quarters to ounces...

My friends and I weren't buddies with Ford but just customers (just knew his name and that's it) who would pick up a half-quarter to a quarter at a time....

And you must be kidding about the cops being all-knowing on who the players are....
I have a feeling you must have grown up in the 70s or 60s (or earlier)....because things are way different since those days....
I have seen some guys who can be considered major players and have flown under the cops radar all their lives....
If you dealt the harder drugs like Coke or Heroin there's a chance the cops will know about you but if you just dealt marijuana and hash you could deal pretty easily without the cops picking up your scent (as long as you had some street smarts)....

And once the police have you on your list they will go after you until you're caught or forced to retire....
Why would they after certain ones and not after others?
And if that's the case then the cops probably wouldn't admit they had Doug Ford's name on their list but did nothing....
Though Doug Ford wasn't on their list and he did deal hash more than your average small time dealer....

Luckily for Doug Ford he managed to keep his enterprise

If he wanted to smoke hash or marijuana he could have probably taken a less riskier route (he could have asked his brother :wink....

In that last post I was making the assumption that the tape exists....

But I was just making the argument that if it does exist it would most likely contain Rob Ford smoking crack than hash (if it does exist)....

Here is another interesting part:

The Globe also tried to contact retired police officers who investigated drugs in the area at the time. One said he had no recollection of encountering the Fords.

Another, whose name appeared on court documents in relation to allegations of assault and forcible confinement committed by Randy Ford, said he could not recall the incident. Several did not respond.

This raises some questions. Why do the Ford's want to stay on the good side of the cops and why are no cops willing to comment on the drug issues of this family?

What I would be proud of is last years record tourism Toronto had. Also, more cranes in the air than other NAmerican cities is surely a plus.

lighter on the bottom and lighter on the top. that's about the only way to do it in a grainy video from across the room. your pic and way you worded it made it out like there was a huge difference between the 2 and there isn't.

You have to put it in context, he's a mayor who got fired from a volunteer football job that he used toronto resources on, failed in a casino, failed in ttc changes, failed in subways, voted against his own budget, lost council, lost his core support and continues to say idiotic, misinformed and racist comments.

Its just the straw that broke the big fucker's backers.

Hmm...given that this sounds like 80% of the elected officials out there, I'm having a tough time picturing the guy as a villain because he's an overzealous volunteer.

I mean how many other elected politicians out there are donating their own time to volunteer with a youth sports team? And it's not like he turned his back on them, he was turfed, for what to date is nothing more than conjecture. These allegations may very well be true but it' still disturbing how this is all playing out without the smoking gun. The level of vitriol is bizarre.

How would you like it if I walked up to you in a crowded mall and screamed "you <whatever your name is>, I have proof that you fondled my toddler, pedophile! pedophile!" until people with cell phones took videos of me screaming at you and posted it on facebook. Then a couple of old girlfriends that you dumped or maybe some kid you beat up in school jumped in and commented and said "yah, he's a real sicko that one" validated what I was saying. Then the whole thing goes viral.

I walk away, never provide proof and leave you to deal with the fall out.

If the guy was better looking I guarantee you that this would not be getting the play that it is. Ford is a walking sight-gag and it's playing a big role in all of this. Justin Trudeau could strangle a puppy and screw it's twitching corpse on live TV and there's an army of people that would try to explain it away...because he's pretty.

Obviously an exaggerated scenario but that's kind of how this feels, just a little surreal. They need to cough up the video ASAP so that this can end one way or the other. Get the silly bugger out of there because of something more than just rumour, or let it go.
