please explain to me how me not marking down where and when i got fuel is unsafe ?

if i was in violation for hours of service i wouldn't have been able to leave. mechanical regulations should be enforced and i am for that. if a guy forgets to write down the name of town he finished off in it's a 400$ ticket. forget the date, that's a fine. there are a ridiculous amount of fines for very stupid things that have nothing to do with safety. i can get a fine for pulling over for a piss and not marking it down. how is any of that gonna result in a tire flying off ? lets not forget the tire flying off thing was not nearly as often as everyone says. it did happen, but it wasn't that frequent.I think he should first define his idea of "regular basis". :wink:
don't beat yourself up over it, the inspectors at scales are a special kind of stupid. barely a step above security guards but they act like they're the president lol
btw trucking has so many regulations there isn't a single person in north america that knows em all.
several dot officers in usa were bragging that they can put a brand new tractor trailer from a showroom floor out of service if following the regulations 100%.
btw if this was the scale on 401 just outside of windsor go around next time, and every other time you go by there hahaha

This is exactly what I was going to say. No regulation will bring us back to those days.We should go back to the days when the regulations were lighter and truck tires were flying off and killing innocent drivers on a regular basis.
I think the log books are just one of those thing that you don't have to understand but just have to do. Trucks do more road damage than cars and roads are tax paid. Your fuel log book records you are buying fuel and paying for your contributions to the damaging if the roads. I am sure there are other reasons too -- perhaps just to piss you off?
These stop logs are driver rest breaks and are definately safety related! You know if you're wheels aren't turning you are making no money. Rest breaks cost you or your company. You need to find a paralegal from Windsor to keep the cost down (Toronto ones will charge you for the travel) and who will fight on your behalf. It might be worth spending $250.by the time i drive down to windsor to fight it and drive back, the time and gas i spend wouldn't be worth it. thanks though.
