Problems with Internet Explorer 9

I had updated from IE8. The window will open and google's page will load . When I get to another page link ex cnn the page is frozen and nothing will open from it.I recently downloaded Google chrome to try it out.I thought perhaps that was an issue but after uninstalling Google chrome, i had a hell of a time accessing the net as IE9 still did not work.Google chrome seems to work fine but i've used IE for years and am curious what the issue is with it now.It will not let me close the page either.Oddest thing I've seen

a lot of sites don't program for IE anymore it is the worst browser out there and the only acceptable use for IE is to download another browser. it is a joke and shit program, don't use it.

if chrome and firefox work amazing, why keep going back to a piece of shit that doesn't work ?

You may want to check your Flash player and see if it needs an upgrade. A site like CNN is filled with those annoying Flash ads, and when they hang they tend to hang everything. Alternatively, you may have a plugin (virus scanner or some other tool) that is interfering with IE. Since those plugins grab onto IE for dear life when you install them, it's possible they don't like IE 9. Disable all plugins and see if that helps.

In the interest of fairness, I find Chrome to be the browser that chokes on Flash bugs. However, I am FF user, and therefore biased.

I agree, but IE has a better favorites layout - i have 200 favorites, so that becomes hard to display in chrome or mozilla bookmarks layout

I purchased a new computer with Win 7 and IE 9 pre-installed. IE 9 refused to allow me to install Chrome (which I have been using for years). I spent more than 1 hour searching forms (lot's of people with the same complaint) to find a work around... What a farkin' pain in the ass. M$ sucks!

Pass on IE9. It's crap and best use is for downloading another browser such as Chrome, FF or Opera....;)

it's cool to have favorites list but what good is the list if your browser won't let you load any of them ?

Hey, Woodpekr is back. He is many things to many people but he knows his computer stuff. (BTW: I'm sticking with FireFox 16 even though FireFox seems to come out with an "updated" version every 2 weeks now.)
