Oh I just thought of something! How awesome is it that he loves football sooooooooooooooo much that he won't be able to be on the parade float tomorrow for the Argo's victory parade cause he ain't the mayor anymore. That makes me smile :)

Those damn left-wingers with their laws and their judges.
I know. You and Oldjones prefer ivy-league or graduate-schooled, slick politicians who can waste billions under the electorate's noses than someone who's guilty of a relatively minor infraction towards a charitable/community cause.

Yup.

This is how stupid Liberals are. Unless of course these same Libs are govt employees who are being fed at the trough, in that case they're pretty crafty

I guess the ruling has nothing to do with 'the rule of law' and abiding by those rules that have been put in place to protect 'society'.

I guess the ruling has nothing to do with ensuring 'transperancy' in civic political decisions so that the benefits of those decisions accrue mostly for the benefit of society and not for personal financial nor corporate gain.

The above are just two examples of how this decision benefits 'society'. I'm sure others can describe many, many more.

'You guys' truly are 'unbelievable' that you can still support someone who has no regard for the 'rules' and thus society. Is this truly a true representation of yourselves. That you guys really don't care 'how you get there', so long as 'you get there'. Reminds me of your idol.

You and your leftwing allies are truly 'unbelievable' . Just like the ethic commisioners who find that Kye Rye $ 12,000 retirement party with an S & M theme which Kye Rye (left wing eltist) blew $ 12,000 which she rules that Kye did nothing wrong. And then rules that Rob Ford solicated $3,150 donation on city letterhead as a coucilliour to help black youth on football is conflict of interest. Rob Ford who really care about black unemployed student youth and using football as some sort way to better his students. But you left wingers would rather have back youth who joins gangs and shoot up the city (like Eaton Center). Rob Ford passions of helping back youth with his football foundation is admireable. Now compare that to other Left wing Miller allies ( Adam Vauhgan, Gord Perk, Shelly Carroll, etc) all they do is talk and spend and hire expensive consultant and study it to death and then do nothing. Rob Ford even bought groceries invites those starving foot ball players them to his home fed some of poor unemployed black football youth in his home. It a very sad day. I know you truly is happy with this decison. I hope Rob Ford will run as mayor again and win another majority. Very sad day indeed.. the leftwing alliies of Millers and including you are truly a sore loser.

I guess we will be heading back to out of control spending and union influence. I suspect Adam Vaughan aka Mr Nasty had an unaided orgasm when the news broke.
You believe Ford is a polite nice guy compared to Adam Vaughn?

Ford has his favourite unions as well, he bent over backwards to make sure the cops got their hefty raise and extra manpower.

He wanted to spend crazy money we don't have on subways, Ford doesn't have a clue about being fiscally responsible.

I'm no fan of Vaughn and he isn't electable in the suburbs, he knows this too and I doubt he'll make a run for Mayor.

And so it goes on. Ford is a bullshitter who knows how to market a brand - "the hard-fighting little guy who'll take on the unions and big government". You think he actually means any of the stuff he says??!!

The REAL Ford was on display throughout his pathetic tenure as mayor - arrogant, foolish fuck-up with so little respect for the law and the appropriate way of doing things that he got nailed again and again and again and dug himself in deeper and deeper until finally he got his ass kicked out.

And you don't think the Toronto Sun wouldn't hound and ruin any Leftie on counsel who was stupid enough to pull the lame crap Ford did??!! The Sun would drain his / her blood in a second and use it to sell advertising space in that rag.

Yes I do. A much nicer guy, BUT for sure he has blundered with his rough edges. But I would sooner be in a fox hole with Rob than Adam Vaughn. Or have a beer etc.

How come Toronto is the only municipality in Canada that projects to spend less this year than last year? And a couple of questions on the Police. When was their contract negotiated and has the Ford administration demanded a 10& rollback in total budget over two years? And who is not complying with the roll back? Bill Blair, Millers favourite for the post. Budget aside, Blair should be dismissed for his G20 non-handling.

It is a bad outcome for everyone. Ford will probably win a by-election on the "democracy" war cry. He really shouldn't have been removed from office for this. He should have been removed from office for being a failure and a buffoon. I guess this is part of being a buffoon but this isn't the right way.

The one thing that should come of this is that law should be rewritten to give the judge a bit more lattitude in sentencing. Any of the following would have been preferable to the current ruling:

-- Find him guilty and bar him from running for election for 7 years, BUT leave him sitting in the job for the rest of his mandate
-- Impose a stiff fine to penalize him for his wrongdoing
-- Order him to walk up and down Queen street in front of city hall wearing a sign that reads "I cheated the taxpayer" but leave him in office

I'm sure we can think of more ways. He should have been humiliated and punished for flouting the rules--but not outright removed from office. That puts the city in a bad position and is out of line with the crime.

... best day ever

It's not over but the end result will not change.

(Oh the void his departure will leave me with..... :()
You realized your an oxyomoron.
For a person who is talked left wing but your actions indicate you are a truly a right wing persons.
. . Examples working in the illegal underground economy with a very high probablities not declaring all you income earned illegally to Canada Revenue Agency. If you are truly a left wing person then you should talk the talk and walk the walk. Another word proof that you are a really left wing...You should paid all your taxes and declare all your income to Canada Revenue Agency. Now if you really a right wing person then put your support for Rob Ford by declaring your verbal support for rob ford.

Well, there's the 2 top qualities we look for in a mayor. Who'd you rather drink beer in a fox hole with! Fordie all the way. I can't understand how we got in this mess??? lol

If Ford has half a brain, he will forget the appeal and just fade away into the background. The appeal will cost big money and he will lose. He can't even win re-election now. Just about everyone knows he's a complete buffoon. So an appeal will just allow him to delay the inevitable.

I am trying to figure this out. I do not agree with Jennifer but I would say that paying taxes is both a left and right wing virtue, and not a perogative of either side of the spectrum. On a somewhat lighter side, if you feel strongly about SP tax avoidance, please refrain from being part of the problem by not spending any more money on them :D
